  • Publication number: 20070013887
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for improving optical lithographic processing of a substrate by selecting appropriate system parameters in order to obtain a good image or print of the pattern to be obtained in a resist layer, which includes selecting a set of system parameters for an optical lithographic system having selectable system parameters, thus characterising the optical lithographic system and obtaining transferred lens pupil information. The latter is performed by obtaining, for each point of a set of points within a lens pupil of the optical lithographic system with the selected set of system parameters, a value of at least one optical parameter at a level of the substrate, the at least one optical parameter being a property of a light ray projected towards the substrate from the point of the set of points within the lens pupil. The lens pupil information then is combined with information about the mask to be used for generating the pattern in the resist layer.

Abstract: The electronic device (1) of the present invention has a carrier (10) with a plurality of discrete electro-optical elements (110, 130, 150) mounted on the surface of the carrier (10). The electro-optical elements (110, 130, 150), which cover respective parts of the electrode structure (12) on the surface of the carrier (10), each have a polymer layer (114, 134, 154), which encloses an electro-optical material (102, 122, 142) between the polymer layer (114, 134, 154) and the surface of the carrier (10). The discrete electro-optical elements (110, 130, 150) have been formed by the individual deposition of discrete droplets of a liquid comprising the electro-optical material and a polymer precursor followed by exposure of the droplets to a stimulus triggering the polymerization of the polymer precursor.

  • Publication number: 20060133472
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing spatial scalable compression of a video stream is disclosed. The video stream is downsampled to reduce the resolution of the video stream. The downsampled video stream is encoded to produce a base stream. The base stream is decoded and upconverted to produce a reconstructed video stream. The reconstructed video stream is subtracted from the video stream to produce a residual stream. It is then determined which segments or pixels in each frame have a predetermined chance of having a predetermined characteristic. A gain value for the content of each segment or pixel is calculated, wherein the gain for pixels which have the predetermined chance of having the predetermined characteristic is biased toward 1 and the gain for other pixels is biased toward 0. The residual stream is multiplied by the gain values so as to remove bits from the residual stream which do not correspond to the predetermined characteristic.

  • Publication number: 20050248503
Abstract: A display system (100) for displaying images from different data streams (1,2) simultaneously is described. Images corresponding to the first data stream (1) are shown to a first observer (106) in a vehicle and images corresponding to the second data stream (2) are shown to a second observer (108) in the vehicle. The display system (100) comprises: a display screen (102) for generating a first one of the images and a second one of the images; and an optical selction screen (104) for selectively passing the first one of the images in a first direction (101) towards the first observer (106) and passing the second one of the images in a second direction (103) towards the second observer (108). It is advantageously that the display screen (102) generates images from both data streams (1,2).

  • Patent number: 6810134
Abstract: In block-based motion or depth estimation, a block is assigned a motion or depth value as a result of minimizing the matching error over a limited set (45) of candidate values. This set (45) usually comprises one random motion or depth value, to prevent the algorithm from stacking in local minimums. The method and system according to the invention instead add to this set (45) one motion or depth value based on properties of the image. A history of temporal changes for chosen motion or depth values is recorded, a histogram is made and a plurality of values is created in proportion to the histogram. The one added value is chosen from this plurality. Additionally, information about the direction of the changes is recorded to prevent oscillation. An apparatus for adapting a video signal (40) uses the chosen candidate values to create an enhanced version of the video signal (40).

This image enhancement information (20) may comprise image information corresponding to one or more single viewpoints (22,24) and/or image information corresponding to one or more ranges of viewpoints (26,28). The visual communication signal (32) may be transmitted from a transmitter (30) to a receiver (34) in a visual communication system (40) such as a 3-D television system or a 3-D teleconferencing system. Alternatively, the visual communication signal (32) may be carried by a tangible medium, e.g.

  • Patent number: 6671388
Abstract: Most watermarking schemes are not resistant to geometric distortions of a watermarked image, because such manipulations destroy the correlation between the original watermark and the watermark in the manipulated image. In order to restore the correlation, a suspect image (Q) is analyzed (6) for the presence of a repeated data pattern. If such a pattern is found, it is concluded that the image has been watermarked by “tiling” a small-sized watermark pattern over the extent of the image. The actual detection of whether the watermark is a given watermark W is subsequently performed by determining the periodicity of the pattern found in the suspect image, and processing (9) the suspect image so as to match the periodicity of the processed image with the given periodicity of the watermark to be detected. If the suspect image indeed includes the given watermark W, the geometric manipulation is thereby undone and a conventional watermark detector (3) will signify this accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6634342
Abstract: Fuel system for a vehicle with a heat enigine, comprising a hollow body made of plastic, designed to contain or to transport fuel, and means of covering this hollow body by means of a rigid jacket surrounding the hollow body. The covering means form, with the surface of the hollow body, a confined space fitted with a device for flushing by means of air. The air which entrains any emitted vapours is purified before being discharged into the atmosphere or is mixed with the air blown out by the engine. The invention is applicable to a double jacket for a fuel tank made of plastic or to a fuel pipe fitted with a concentric channel.
