  • Patent number: 6206560
Abstract: An extruder of the Transfermix type comprises a barrel in which a screw rotates for transporting and mixing visco-elastic compounds. The extruder has an inlet, a compression section, a plasticizing section and an exit section. The plasticizing section is of the Transfermix type, in which a helical groove in the screw varies in cross section from full area to zero area, while the cross section of an oppositely handed helical groove in the barrel varies from zero to full area. A return section follows the plasticizing section, and the operative contact-surface of the return section is formed by a sleeve which forms a cylindrical gap between the sleeve and the screw, the sleeve being axially movable to close or open the gap to produce a continuously adjustable throttle.

  • Patent number: 6204704
Abstract: An integrated circuit including a DC sensing power-up reset (PUR) circuit and method for generating a reset signal. The PUR circuit comprises a first terminal for receiving a supply voltage and a second terminal for receiving a reference voltage corresponding to a low logic state. A first transistor is coupled between the first terminal and a first node, wherein the first transistor switches on when the supply voltage is rising and exceeds a rising trip point voltage. A second transistor is coupled between the first terminal and the first node, and switches off when the supply voltage falls below a falling trip point voltage which is less than the rising trip point voltage. A first inverter is coupled at an input terminal to the first node and at an output terminal to a second node. A resistor is coupled between the first node and the second terminal.

  • Patent number: 6205218
Abstract: A network interface circuit employs an extended feedback circuit topology for impedance matching across a high voltage boundary between a line side portion and low voltage portion of a network. The network interface circuit includes an operational amplifier-based circuit which is responsive to a signal applied from user equipment on the low voltage portion. Specifically, the present invention includes a transmit path having a first, second, and third amplifier circuit and an impedance element, and a receive path that includes a transfer function implemented as a second order low pass filter for correcting amplifier gain and phase effects in the complex feedback loop of the circuit. The output impedance is remotely set by multiplying the impedance element by a scale factor to match the network impedance. The feedback loop is extended across the high voltage boundary using high voltage interfaces such as linear optical coupling devices (LOCs).

  • Patent number: 6199388
Abstract: A system and method for controlling the temperature and humidity level of a controlled space. The system includes a total energy recovery wheel and a dehumidification wheel in conjunction with a cooler to control the temperature and humidity of air supplied to a controlled space. In a method of controlling temperature and humidity of a controlled space, supply air is cooled and dehumidified by passing it through a rotating total energy recovery wheel. The total energy recovery wheel is cooled and dehumidified by passing exhaust air through it. The supply air is further cooled and dehumidified by passing it through a cooler. The supply air is warmed and further dehumidified by passing it through a rotating dehumidification wheel. The dehumidification wheel is warmed and dehumidified by passing exhaust air through it. During the heating mode, the system functions as an extremely effective total energy recovery device by operating the two wheels in series.

Abstract: A system for cleaning a moving substrate includes a rail mounted adjacent to the substrate surface and substantially transverse to the direction of movement thereof. A carriage for supporting a polymer-covered contact cleaning roller (CCR) is deployed on the rail for allowing axial translation of the CCR transversely of the substrate while in rolling contact therewith. The rail extends beyond at least one longitudinal edge of the substrate by a distance at least equal to the length of the CCR such that the CCR may be translated sufficiently to be brought out of contact with the moving substrate surface, from which position the CCR may be readily and safely renewed by an operator or automatically by any convenient means. The CCR mounted on the carriage may be a primary CCR and the substrate may be an object to be cleaned by the system, or the CCR mounted on the carriage may be a secondary CCR and the substrate may be a primary CCR.

  • Patent number: 6197879
Abstract: A polymer useful as an inorganic pigment dispersant is provided. The polymer is derived from monomers consisting essentially of an ethylenically unsaturated aromatic monomer, an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid monomer, and an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid monomer. • Patent number: 6198849
Abstract: A method for generating a stream of image data which is to be transmitted via a data channel, in particular a mobile radio channel. In this method, the images are divided into a quantity of macroblocks. In addition, the image information elements are divided into classes of information elements of the same kind. The image data of at least a portion of the classes are inserted into the stream by macroblocks. In a deviation from the proposed H.263 standard, the image data in each macroblock which have a fixed word length, in particular the DQUANT and INTRADC values, are combined into a class (ADMIN+DC-INTRA) provided for them, and are inserted consecutively into the stream with no variable-length image data being transmitted between them. A method for analyzing a stream of data is also provided.
