Abstract: A particle detection system (100), such as an active video smoke detection system, includes at least one illumination means (102) for directing a beam (106) of radiation through at least part of the air volume being monitored (110), an image sensor (104) is positioned to capture images of at least part of a beam (106) from illumination means (102); and means to analyse (107) the captured images to detect the presence of particles within the volume. At least 29 different aspects are described for improving the sensitivity, usability, and robustness of particle detection. These include, for example, configuring illumination means (102) to create a curtain of light or a rapidly-scanned beam across the air volume (110), and configuring a reflector to steer or change direction of a beam reflected from illumination means (102).

Abstract: A system for synthesizing new datasets from a corpus of data sources is disclosed. The system analyzes attributes between the different datasets between the data sources to determine if there are possible relationships between the attributes. Where a possible relationship is identified, the system could generate a confidence metric between 0%-100% reflecting how likely it is that the attributes are related. The system could then synthesize a new dataset as a function of the generated confidence metric.

Abstract: An beverage and snack consumption enhancing lid. The lid includes at least one of a snack receiving receptacle and at least one beverage flavoring capsule receptacle. A snack ejector is installed or integrated into the snack receiving receptacle. A snack is packaged within the snack receiving receptacle and retained therein by a snack cover. A beverage flavoring capsule is placed in each at least one beverage flavoring capsule receptacle and retained therein by a seal. The snack cover can multi-function as the capsule seal. The snack ejector would raise the snack from the snack receptacle when the cover is opened. The capsule can be compressed against a piercing element integrated into the capsule receptacle. Flavoring from within the capsule would be dispensed into the beverage to enhance the beverage flavor.

Abstract: A scraper for removing accumulated soil from the wheel of a planter, the scraper comprising a scraper arm having a first end and a second end, the first end being adapted for attachment to an axle mounted to the frame of the planter, and the second end for carrying a scraper blade, wherein the scraper arm is sized and shaped so that when the first end of the scraper arm is attached to the axle, the second end can present the scraper blade to the ground-contacting surface of the wheel so as to remove accumulated soil from the wheel.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for advertising where the advertisement performance is determined via tracking the deals made as a result of communication leads generated from the advertisements. One embodiment includes: providing an advertisement containing a communication reference to a customer on behalf of a party; providing a connection via the reference for real time communications between the customer and the party; and charging an advertisement fee in response to an action of a predetermined type being performed by the customer (or an agreement between the customer and the party being reached) as a result of the real time communications.

Abstract: Differential feedback within multiple user, multiple access, and/or MIMO wireless communications. After full feedback signal(s) have been received by a communication device (e.g., one that is to be performing beamforming for use in subsequent signal transmission), differential feedback signal(s) are received. Those differential feedback signal(s) are employed to update the full feedback signal(s) thereby generating updated/modified full feedback signals. Over time, such updated/modified full feedback signals may subsequently be further updated based upon later received inferential feedback signal(s). Such differential feedback signaling takes advantage of time and/or frequency correlation in a communication channel to provide for reduced feedback overhead by feeding back a difference or delta (?) relative to a previous value. For example, instead of providing full feedback signals in each respective/successive communication, feedback overhead is reduced by providing a difference or delta (?).

Abstract: A method of sending data from a first party participating in a telephone call to a second party participating in the telephone call, comprising, in the terminal of the first party, storing, as a consequence of the telephone call, identifier data that identifies the second party; using the stored identifier data to determine automatically a destination address for a data message; and sending, during the telephone call, the data message with the automatically determined destination address. A method for sending data from a first party participating in a telephone call to a second party participating in the telephone call, comprising, in the terminal of the first party: providing, while the telephone call is on-going, a user selectable option to transfer data to another party participating in the telephone call without user specification of a destination address.

Abstract: A system for finding friends near a friend, including a memory, housed within a mobile device, for storing a contact list including records for a plurality of friends, each record comprising a name of a friend and geographic coordinates of a location of the friend, and a locator for receiving as input the name of a designated friend in the contact list, and for generating as output a list of at least one proximal friend, each proximal friend including the name of a friend, other than the designated friend, whose location is located close to the designated friend's location.

Abstract: A door opener for mounting on a door, including a mounting plate, a frictional engagement beam and an upwardly projecting ledge spaced apart from the mounting plate. A user steps onto the device contacting their shoe with the engagement bar and the upwardly projecting ledge to frictionally engage the shoe to the opener. The user then forcibly retracts their foot towards their body to lever the door open.

Abstract: Described herein are improved configurations for a wireless power transfer. Described are methods and designs to reduce and manage heating and heat dissipation in resonator structures. Configuration and orientation of magnetic material as well as heat sinking material with respect to the dipole moment of the resonator is used to reduce and control thermal properties of the resonator structure and reduce the effects of heating on the performance of wireless power transfer.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided to dynamically configure a passive entry, passive start system to issue passive and active commands upon authentication of a remote keyless fob with a body control module in a given vehicle selected from a fleet of vehicles. In particular, a UID secret key data field is generated in the FOB data store using a fleet secret key data field and a vehicle secret key field retrieved from the BCM data store. A wakeup pattern data field stored in the FOB data store is generated with a fleet wakeup pattern date field and a master wakeup pattern data field retrieved from the BCM data store such that an approach wakeup pattern data field stored in the BCM data field is written to an approach wakeup pattern data field in the FOB data store when the remote fob is authenticated with the body control module.

Abstract: A timer distribution module supports multiple timers and comprises: a command decoder arranged to determine expiration times of a plurality of timers; and a timer link list distribution adapter, LLDA, operably coupled to the command decoder. The LLDA is arranged to: receive a time reference from a master clock; receive timer data from the command decoder wherein the timer data comprises at least one timer expiration link list; construct a plurality of timer link lists based on at least one of: the timer expiration link list, at least one configurable timing barrier; dynamically split the link list timer data into a plurality of granularities based on the timer expiration link list; and output the dynamically split link list timer data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for handling the response sequence with geometric elimination of a plurality of keyless fobs. The remote fobs are interrogated with a body control module. A first signal is issued from a first set of remote fobs in a first time slot in response to the interrogation signal from the body control module. A second signal is issued from a second set of remote fobs in a second time slot in response to the interrogation signal from the body control module. The second time slot differs from the first time slot. A first remote fob is authenticated when the first signal is received by the body control module in a free and clear state. The second remote fob is authenticated when the second signal is received by the body control module in the free and clear state. If neither the first nor second signals are received in the free and clear state, the remote fobs are re-interrogated by the body control module.

Abstract: Integrated systems are provided for the production of higher hydrocarbon compositions, for example liquid hydrocarbon compositions, from methane using an oxidative coupling of methane system to convert methane to ethylene, followed by conversion of ethylene to selectable higher hydrocarbon products. Integrated systems and processes are provided that process methane through to these higher hydrocarbon products.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for configuration a single remote fob to be fully operational with different vehicles such as more than one vehicle within a vehicle fleet. In particular, the method and apparatus implements functional transmitter identification and synchronization to allow for dynamic authentication and configuration of the key fob with the last vehicle with which it was successfully passively authenticated.

Abstract: A wireless communicator with direct USB connection, including a communicator module that connects to and disconnects from a jacket, including a communicator storage memory, a modem for wireless communication, and a communicator connector for connecting the communicator module to the jacket, and a jacket for the communicator module, including a USB disk drive, a jacket connector for connecting the jacket to the communicator module, a USB connector for connecting the jacket to a USB host device, and a controller for enabling the USB host device to access both the communicator storage memory and the jacket USB disk drive when the USB host device is connected to the USB connector, and when the communicator module is connected to the jacket via the communicator and jacket connectors.

Abstract: Circuitry to provide in-order packet delivery. A packet descriptor including a sequence number is received. It is determined in which of three ranges the sequence number resides. Depending, at least in part, on the range in which the sequence number resides it is determined if the packet descriptor is to be communicated to a scheduler which causes an associated packet to be transmitted. If the sequence number resides in a first “flush” range, all associated packet descriptors are output. If the sequence number resides in a second “send” range, only the received packet descriptor is output. If the sequence number resides in a third “store and reorder” range and the sequence number is the next in-order sequence number the packet descriptor is output; if the sequence number is not the next in-order sequence number the packet descriptor is stored in a buffer and a corresponding valid bit is set.

Abstract: A flexible spacer body has two opposing faces adapted to engage the inner surfaces of glazing structures to define an insulating glazing unit. The spacer body may be desiccated polymeric foam such as a silicone foam rubber or EPDM. An adhesive capable of bonding the spacer body to the glazing structure is carried by both of the faces. The adhesive may be from about 0.050 mm to about 1.524 mm thick. The adhesive material also has the properties of low argon gas and low moisture permeability. The adhesive comprises polymers where butyl rubber and/or polyisobutylene polymers together make up the majority of the polymers. The adhesive may also comprise other materials as needed to make it pressure sensitive and to impart a water resistant bond to glass glazing structures. The space assembly may include additional materials to secure the adhesive to the spacer body.

Abstract: A system and method for treating pets, the system comprising: a content provider to provide video and audio content adapted for treating a pet; a video and audio output device for playing the video and audio content; and a feedback interface for providing indications to the content provider about behavior of the pet, wherein the content provider is to adapt the provided content according to the received indications. The method comprising playing video and audio content by a video and audio out-put device, the content comprising: an image adapted for treating a pet; and a sound adapted for treating a pet; receiving indications about behavior of the pet; and adapting the played content according to the received indications.
