Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to provide telephonic connections to members of a social network. One embodiment includes: identifying a first member connected to a second member in a social network; determining whether profile data of the first member of the social network includes a telephonic reference of the first member; presenting a user interface element to the second member over a data communication network in response to a determination that the profile data of the first member includes the telephonic reference of the first member; and responsive to a selection of the user interface element, initiating a first telephonic connection to the first member using the telephonic reference of the first member and a second telephonic connection to the second member to provide a telephonic connection between the first member and the second member.

Abstract: A multi-rail module having mutually exclusive outputs. The module includes first and second-rail logic circuits, first and second-rail driver circuits, and a PMOS transistor sourcing VDD to both the first and second driver circuits. The first-rail logic circuit is coupled to VDD and ground and has a first logic input and a first logic output. The second-rail logic circuit is coupled to VDD and ground and has a second logic input and a second logic output. The first-rail driver circuit is coupled to ground, receives the first logic output, and has a first-rail output Q1. The second-rail driver circuit is coupled to ground, receives the second logic output, and has a second-rail output Q0. The PMOS transistor has a gate driven by a SLEEP signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are provided for gathering and/or providing public opinion by querying users on specific legislative questions or issues (like various commissioned public opinion polls), which may allow officeholders at the national, state, and local level to learn the preferences and/or opinions of their constituents before they cast a vote or take a position on the issue in question. In some embodiments, subscriber or user data may be received, compiled, aggregated, and/or distributed back out to the user and/or to the public in general in a timely fashion. Some embodiments may utilize running tallying and/or alignment features between user preferences and public officials, including information regarding how elected officials may vote or otherwise take action and over time as it may relate to user preferences.

Abstract: Systems and methods may provide for identifying a first position of a rear-view mirror, wherein the first position provides a target field of view. Additionally, a second position may be determined for the rear-view mirror in response to a travel related tilt of the rear-view mirror and the rear-view mirror may be automatically adjusted to the second position, wherein the second position provides the target field of view after the travel related tilt. In one example, the travel related tilt is detected based on one or more sensor signals.

Abstract: Outdoor apparel with a head cover and hand covers protect the wearer from the sun and other outdoor elements. The outdoor apparel comprises material that is resistant to ultraviolet light, traps heat, and is water wicking. The outdoor apparel further comprises a body and sleeves for additional protection from the elements. The hand covers are attached to the sleeves, which are attached to the body. The head cover may comprise an upper cover and a lower cover and be attached to the body. Together the body, head cover, sleeves, and hand covers protect the wearer from the sun and elements while participating in outdoor activities.

The method comprises setting a training set comprising a plurality of data units, selecting a function group of building block functions adapted for processing said plurality of data units, combining members of said function group to create a stream of a plurality of combination functions each complied from at least two members of said function group, applying each member of said stream on each of said plurality of data units to create a set of results, analyzing said set of results to identify a correlation between at least one member of said stream and a target variable for an analysis of said plurality of data units, and outputting said at least one member or an indication thereof.

The virtual line simulated may be configured to receive information identifying at least one virtual line, add, in response to receiving the information, an identifier of a user to a position in the at least one virtual line, receive data indicating that the user completed at least one activity, and reposition, in response to receiving the data, the user to a new position in the at least one virtual line.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for forming an embedded trace substrate includes forming a conductive layer on a carrier. A dielectric film is provided on the conductive layer. Vias are formed in the dielectric film and extend to portions of the conductive layer. A conductive pattern is formed on the dielectric layer and is electrically connected to the conductive layer through the vias. The carrier is removed and portions of the conductive layer are selectively removed to provide a plurality of bumps pads configured to protrude outwardly from the dielectric layer.

Abstract: A connector is disclosed. The connector includes a conductive housing. The conductive housing includes a wall region enclosing a space for receiving an adapter. The conductive housing also includes an annular end piece extending radially inward from a first end of the wall region and terminating the space. The annular end piece includes a flat annular surface, and a raised deformable annulus mounted on the flat annular surface. The raised deformable annulus is of a height such that an insertion of the adapter into the space deforms the raised deformable annulus to generate a physical contact connection between the flat annular surface and the adapter.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses to select tracking mechanisms for the performance determination of advertisements. One embodiment includes: selecting one reference type from a plurality of reference types; and determining a reference of the selected type, the reference to be embedded in an advertisement to count communication leads generated from the advertisement. In one embodiment, the advertisement is to be charged according to a performance measure based on communication leads generated from the advertisement. For example, a price for the advertisement can be specified by a party for which the advertisement is to be presented. For example, the advertisement can be charged in response to a voice communication responding to the advertisement. In one embodiment, the plurality of reference types correspond to different mechanisms to track communication leads generated from the advertisement.

Abstract: The system and method described herein may leverage active network scanning and passive network monitoring to provide strategic anti-malware monitoring in a network. In particular, the system and method described herein may remotely connect to managed hosts in a network to compute hashes or other signatures associated with processes running thereon and suspicious files hosted thereon, wherein the hashes may communicated to a cloud database that aggregates all known virus or malware signatures that various anti-virus vendors have catalogued to detect malware infections without requiring the hosts to have a local or resident anti-virus agent. Furthermore, running processes and file system activity may be monitored in the network to further detect malware infections. Additionally, the network scanning and network monitoring may be used to detect hosts that may potentially be participating in an active botnet or hosting botnet content and audit anti-virus strategies deployed in the network.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for identifying a subscriber station which is in motion, determining a mobility metric indicative of a level of mobility of the subscriber station and varying or updating one or more operating parameters based on the mobility metric. An apparatus can determine a measure of mobility based on one or a combination of a plurality of factors, such as variations in signal strength, variations in a channel estimate, or variations in phase or frequency of a particular signal or signal component. The one or more measures of mobility can be combined to form a single measure of mobility, the measure of mobility can be quantized to a predetermined number of mobility levels and one or more operating parameters can be varied or adjusted based on the mobility level.

Abstract: An image registration method to register a target image with a reference image is provided, including to determine a target set of features present in the target image, to determine a reference set of features present in the reference image, to generate respective signatures for each feature in the target and reference sets, to match features from the target set to corresponding features in the reference set using the signatures, to generate respective transformations to map pairs of features in the target set to corresponding pairs of features in the reference set, and determine a similarity transformation for the target image using a measure of the accuracy of the transformations.

Abstract: Presented is a fecal/urine management system that includes a mattress having an aperture (e.g., catchment aperture) disposed through its top surface. The catchment aperture allows positioning a patient's anus over the aperture when the patient is positioned on the mattress. Accordingly, bodily waste may be collected in the aperture and thus separated from the skin of the patient. To prevent soiling the mattress, a catchment insert is positioned within the catchment aperture. The catchment insert, in one embodiment, includes an annular platform that rests on the top surface of the mattress and catchment bag that is adapted to be positioned within the mattress aperture. The catchment bag and annular platform prevent most or all bodily waste from contacting the mattress. Further, the catchment bag is adapted for removal through the top surface of the mattress with little or no movement of the patient.
