  • Publication number: 20090228455
Abstract: Systems and methods enabling search of a repository for the location of data that is similar to input data, using a defined measure of similarity, in a time that is independent of the size of the repository and linear in a size of the input data, and a space that is proportional to a small fraction of the size of the repository. The similar data segments thus located are further analyzed to determine their common (identical) data sections, regardless of the order and position of the common data sections in the repository and input, and in a time that is linear in the segment size and in constant space.

  • Publication number: 20090227431
Abstract: A weight plate for physical fitness is disclosed including a plate body formed with a central through-bore for mounting on a bar to form a barbell set. The body is further formed with upper and lower half-donut shape shells and an annular core which fits tightly into both shells. The weight plate is not integrally cast therefore has high manufacturability and minimized manufacturing costs. Shells and core are integrated by sealing connection into a whole piece of plate having a smooth surface and an aesthetic appearance. The manufacture process is energy economizing and hardly causes pollution to the environment.

  • Publication number: 20090225933
Abstract: A physiological parameter monitor (44) monitors a cyclic physiological parameter and generates a cyclic parameter phase indicative signal. A radiation system (8) is disposed adjacent an examination region (18, 28) to generate transmission radiation data and emission radiation data. First and second sorting devices (48, 74) sort corresponding transmission and emission radiation data into transmission radiation data sets (50) and emission radiation data sets (78) corresponding to each of a plurality of the cyclic parameter phases. A data processor (60) reconstructs attenuation maps (62) from the transmission data for each of the plurality of cyclic parameter phases. An image processor (80) corrects the emission radiation data of each cyclic parameter phase with the attenuation map (62) of the same cyclic parameter phase and reconstructs the attenuation corrected emission data sets into an image representation for each cyclic parameter phase.

  • Patent number: 7585493
Abstract: An article for use in an aerosol device, for producing an aerosol of a drug composition is disclosed. The article includes a heat-conductive substrate having a surface with a selected surface area, and a drug composition film on the substrate surface having a selected film thickness of between 0.05 and 20 ?m. The film thickness is such that an aerosol formed by vaporizing the drug composition by heating the substrate and condensing the vaporized compound contains 10% or less drug-degradation product and at least 50% of the total amount of drug composition contained in the film. The selected substrate surface area is such as to yield an effective human therapeutic dose of the drug aerosol. Also disclosed are methods of making and using the article.

  • Patent number: 7587341
Abstract: A purchasing entity directs the sourcing of one or more components of a part in a microprocessor-based method. The microprocessor-based method comprises generating a listing for a part that identifies the one or more components. Such a listing is stored in digital electronic form and is accessible by a microcomputer-based system. The purchasing entity then enters into a purchase agreement with a secondary supplier for at least one component of the one or more components. The purchasing entity then obtains a quotation from a primary supplier for the part with the secondary supplier specified as a supplier for at least one component. A computer system for directed sourcing that includes a computer network including one or more computers and which executes the method of the invention is also provided.

  • Patent number: 7585497
Abstract: There is disclosed an isolated cDNA sequence (SEQ ID NO:1) encoding a P4.33 polypeptide and comprising a coding region (SEQ ID NO:2) of the sequence described in SEQ ID NO:1, or a sequence having at least 90% homology with the coding region of SEQ ID NO:1. The P4.33 polypeptide functions as a specific cell-surface receptor for IGFBP-3, and undergoes nuclear translocation in combination with IGFBP-3. IGFBP-3 and P4.33 (IGFBP-3R) cooperatively suppress DNA synthesis and cell growth, and induce caspase activation and apoptosis in cancer cells, indicating that P4.33 is an important mediator of IGF-independent growth inhibitory actions of IGFBP-3. The P4.33:IGFBP-3 system of the present invention can be used, inter alia, in screening and diagnostic assays, and for therapeutic methods for cancer treatment and tumor suppression.

  • Publication number: 20090218918
Abstract: Disclosed is a media cabinet including mirrors for revealing a media display. The mirrored media cabinet allows a dresser to function as a television stand and dresser combination which would normally require two separate cabinets. The media cabinet eliminates the need for an additional chest or armoire for television storage, which can save space while concealing the television when not in use.

  • Publication number: 20090222450
Abstract: The present invention is a new and efficient system and method for transferring large email attachment files by establishing an ad-hoc peer-to-peer (P2P) connection between sender and recipients. By separating the email from the attachment, the invention dramatically decreases the volume of data transferred by mail servers, allowing them to handle only the body of the message. The attachment files are transferred using direct communication means, which are more suitable for this kind of data transference. All the embodiments of the present invention may be implemented as software components, which can be integrated into any existing email application, or as a stand-alone application including the email and the P2P functionalities. Also included in the scope of the present invention are means for identifying additional sources in the network from which the transferred file may be downloaded, whenever the attached file is a generic file.
