  • Patent number: 7699912
Abstract: The air-cleaner includes a housing. The air-cleaner includes a filter element located in the housing to filter air taken into the housing. The air-cleaner includes an adsorption element for adsorbing vaporized fuel flowing into the housing. The housing includes first and second housing components having open ends put on each other. The filter element is held between the first and second housing components, separating the housing into a clean side and a dust side. The adsorption element includes a frame at the periphery; and an adsorption portion located inside the frame. One of the first and second housing components as the clean side has an inner side back in the open end, the inner side having a mounting portion having the adsorption element mounted thereto. The mounting portion includes the adsorption element; and a support member placed thereon.

  • Patent number: 5516431
Abstract: In a plasma filtration process including a treatment with a primary filter for separating blood into blood cells and plasma and a treatment with a secondary filter for removing harmful macromolecules from the separated plasma for purification, the secondary filter is washed by passing a washing liquid through an inner chamber of the filter, an outer chamber thereof or both the chambers in an amount corresponding to 5 to 50% of the priming volume of the filter every time the filtration pressure has reached 70 to 100% of the withstanding pressure of the secondary filter. This washing procedure reduces the time required for the filtration of plasma to about 60 to 70% of the time conventionally needed, shortens the patient restraining time, and decreases the amount of washing liquid to be used to consequently diminish the disposal loss of plasma from the system.

  • Patent number: 5164087
Abstract: A leukocyte separator for trapping and separating leukocytes from blood is made of a porous material having a bubble point ranging from 0.08 to 0.3 kg/cm.sup.2 and a thickness of at least 0.30 mm. The leukocyte separator is manufactured by pressing a porous material having a bubble point smaller than 0.13 kg/cm.sup.2 to produce a porous material having a thickness of at least 0.3 mm and a bubble point ranging from 0.13 to 0.3 kg/cm.sup.2.

  • Patent number: 5084763
Abstract: A stereoscopic video signal converting apparatus having A/D converters, field memories, and a D/A converter shared by both the parallel processing system and the time-division multiplex processing system. The shared portions are selectively used for either one of the two systems in accordance with an instruction such as a parallel/time-division multiplex selection signal which selects either one of two types of the read and write pulses for the field memories. A suitable processing system of the two types is selected depending on whether a picture quality or one channel transmission is required without increasing a cost of the apparatus. The apparatus provides compatibility between the two systems so that an operability of the system is enhanced.

  • Patent number: 4963260
Abstract: A liquid filtering device for separating leukocytes from blood to produce concentrated red cells, for example, includes a housing having a liquid inlet port and a liquid outlet port and providing a flow passage from the liquid inlet port to the liquid outlet port, a partition plate fixedly disposed in the housing, a first filter element disposed in the housing in an upstream position with respect to the flow passage, and a second filter element disposed in the housing in a downstream position with respect to the flow passage, the second filter element being made of a material having a larger filtration resistance than the first filter element. The second filter element has an outer peripheral edge fixed directly to the partition plate in a liquidtight manner in surrounding relation to the first filter element.
