  • Patent number: 5234488
Abstract: A mold additive suitable for use in a mold for continuous casting of steel which comprises, as its base material, at least 50% by weight of synthetic calcium silicate which contains CaO and SiO.sub.2 in a total amount not less than 70% by weight, and whose CaO/SiO.sub.2 ratio is not lower than 1.20. A mold additive of low bulk density and superior in heat insulation can be obtained and its CaO/SiO.sub.2 ratio can be widely adjusted.

  • Patent number: 5162102
Abstract: A medical instrument having a blood contact portion formed of a hydrophobic material, wherein a surface-active agent safe to a human body is deposited onto part or the entirety of the blood contact portion so that the medical instrument is fully primed by introducing liquid into the instrument without leaving fine bubbles adhered to the surface of the blood contact portion. Further, a method for fabricating a medical instrument is provided, comprising steps of assembling a medical instrument having a blood contact portion formed of a hydrophobic material, and contacting a liquid containing a surface-active agent safe to a human body to the blood contact portion, followed by drying, leaving the surface-active agent deposited onto the surface of the blood contact portion so that the surface-active agent is steadily and readily deposited onto the blood contact portion of hydrophobic material.

  • Patent number: 5160332
Abstract: A blood reservoir serves to suppress generation of air bubbles in blood in an extracorporeal blood circulation circuit. The blood reservoir includes a blood storage chamber for temporarily storing the blood, the blood storage chamber having blood inlet and outlet ports, and a fluid-permeable blood spouting inhibitor disposed over the blood inlet port. Since the blood flows into the blood storage chamber through the blood spouting inhibitor, the blood is prevented from being spouted into the blood reservoir, so that air bubbles are prevented from being generated in the blood.

  • Patent number: 5138199
Abstract: A level conversion circuit includes a level converter and a buffer gate circuit. A level converter includes two pairs of P-channel MOS transistors. A first input signal is supplied to one of the pair of P-channel MOS transistors and a second input signal is supplied to one of the other pair of P-channel MOS transistors. Each of the first and second input signals are complementary ECL-level signals. The buffer gate circuit includes two BiCMOS circuits. A first output signal from one of the pairs of P-channel MOS transistors is supplied to a gate of an N-channel MOS transistor provided in one of the BiCMOS circuits. A second output signal from the other pair of P-channel MOS transistors is supplied to a gate of an N-channel MOS transistor provided in the other BiCMOS circuit. The first input signal is supplied directly to a gate of a P-channel MOS transistor provided in one the BiCMOS circuits.

  • Patent number: 4961170
Abstract: A logic circuit improves a marginal voltage of a p-channel metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) transistor which is driven through a bipolar complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) gate. The logic circuit has a bipolar CMOS gate having a CMOS gate and output stage bipolar transistors for receiving an input signal through the CMOS gate, where the CMOS gate and the output stage bipolar transistors are driven by first and second power source voltages. The first power source voltage is higher than the second power source voltage and the output stage bipolar transistors output a signal as an output signal of the bipolar CMOS gate. A p-channel MOS transistor has a gate supplied with the output signal of the bipolar CMOS gate, a source supplied with a third power source voltage, and a drain from which an output signal of the logic circuit is outputted. The third power source voltage is a predetermined value lower than the first power source voltage and higher than the second power source voltage.

  • Patent number: 4163385
Abstract: An engine knocking meter detects a pressure in a cylinder by a pressure sensor, clips a detected signal by a clipping circuit to cut low level noises, supplies an output signal of the clipping circuit to a filter circuit to eliminate noises having frequencies which lie beyond a frequency band of a knocking signal, and supplies an output signal of the filter circuit to a gate which is driven within a given crank angle under the control of a signal from a crank angle sensor mounted on a crank shaft of an engine, for separating the knocking signal.
