    Abstract: A developing device for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier with a developing liquid includes a liquid storing section for storing the liquid including a developing substance and a carrier liquid. A developer carrier deposits the liquid fed from the liquid storing section thereon. A float type liquid level sensor senses a liquid level in the liquid storing section. The liquid level sensor includes a magnetic force generating member, a magnetic force sensing device, and floats movable up and down in accordance with the liquid level in the liquid storing section. A distance between the magnetic force generating member and the magnetic force sensing device varies in accordance with the movement of the floats, allowing the liquid level to be determined based on the output of the magnetic force sensing device. An image forming apparatus may include the developing device.

    Abstract: A weld portion detector (20) and a laser beam projector (10) disposed a predetermined distance behind the weld portion detector (20) are moved together. The weld portion detector (20) detects a weld line and the laser beam projector (10) projects on the weld line detected by the weld portion detector (20) for laser welding. Pieces of data on weld positions sequentially detected by the weld portion detector (20) are stored sequentially in combination with times when the pieces of data on the weld positions are obtained and moving speeds of the weld portion detector (20) in a memory. A time when the weld portion detector (20) passed a point at which the laser beam projector (10) has just arrived is calculated on the basis of the times and the moving speeds stored in the memory. The laser beam projector (10) projects a laser beam on a weld position detected at the thus calculated time.

The pressing unit (6) is provided with a pneumatic cylinder actuator for applying the predetermined pressure to the pressing device (12).

    Abstract: In an air cycle machine, a turbine is driven by an engine bleed air, and the turbine power is mechanically transmitted to a compressor to compress the engine bleed air or open air. An electric motor may be provided to electrically drive the compressor, if necessary, to thereby serve as an auxiliary power for the turbine power. The air cycle machine is used for an air conditioning system for an aircraft, wherein open air or engine fan air is raised in its pressure by taking advantage of the compressor driven by the turbine power to use as a ventilation air. Therefore, a consumption of the engine bleed air having a high energy level can be efficiently reduced.
