  • Publication number: 20020099853
Abstract: In order to reduce the size of a data stream of image data transmitted via a network and to efficiently manage such a data stream, the image data is coded in a highly efficient fashion using a hierarchical coding algorithm, such as a wavelet transformation. When a data stream is being inputted, the data stream is analyzed and input of the data stream is interrupted in accordance with an analysis result. An interrupted stream is generated from the data stream that has already been inputted. The resultant interrupted stream is stored.

  • Publication number: 20020015475
Abstract: An X-ray image photographing apparatus includes an image obtaining portion for obtaining an X-ray distribution transmitted through an object, a grid detecting system having a construction for obtaining information from a grid side by the action of inserting the grid for decreasing scattered rays into the apparatus, and detecting at least one of the presence or absence of the grid, the kind of the grid and the presence or absence of the replacement of the grid by the use of the construction, an image processing system for image processing and outputting image data collected by the image obtaining portion, and a memory portion preserving therein a plurality of sets of image processing parameters for controlling the image processing system. The image processing system selects the image processing parameters preserved in the memory on the basis of at least the result of the detection by the grid detecting system and executes image processing.

  • Publication number: 20020012450
Abstract: An X-ray beam transmitted through an object is transmitted through a grid, which has been moved to the X-ray irradiation position, and reaches a panel sensor after scattered X-rays are removed by the grid. Image processing is done on the basis of a reduced image input from the panel sensor. As the reduced image, an image reduced to ⅛ the image output from the panel sensor in both the vertical and horizontal directions is used, and the image is binarized by a predetermined threshold value. Noise of the binary image is removed by an opening filter, and lines of the noise-removed image are scanned in the x- and y-directions to form a list of scan start and end points. The average values of these points are calculated to determine an irradiated region. By extracting an image of the irradiated region from the panel sensor, fluoroscopic image observation and still image photographing are efficiently done using a panel sensor with a large photographing frame.

  • Patent number: 6341893
Abstract: A radiographic stand with a radiation image receiving portion includes a lying stand having a top plate on which a subject lies down, a radiation image receiving portion located below the top plate, and a moving mechanism for making the radiation image receiving portion movable in the widthwise direction or the lengthwise direction of the top plate. The moving mechanism also makes the radiation image receiving portion erectable in a vertical direction.

  • Publication number: 20010015407
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a sensor including a sensing region which senses the image of an object, and a correcting circuit which performs first processing which corrects image data based on a second region corresponding to an irradiation region in the sensing region by using correcting data based on a first region corresponding to another irradiation region in the sensing region, and second processing which performs processing on the image data based on a third region included in the second region, and which is excluded in the overlapping part between the first region and the second region.

  • Patent number: 6141399
Abstract: An image processing device for obtaining a stable image of a high quality is provided. A dynamic range compression circuit executes a dynamic range compressing process for adding a value depending on a peripheral average pixel value to a pixel value of an input image. A contrast enhancement circuit executes a contrast enhancing process to a compressed image derived by the dynamic range compression circuit. Thus, a decrease in contrast of the whole image due to an excessive increase or decrease in density of the portion where the dynamic range compressing process was executed can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 4729100
Abstract: X-rays are projected from different directions onto a specific slice of an object to be examined, and corresponding projection data is acquired. The projection data is divided into regions in accordance with the data characteristics. The regions are convoluted by corresponding filter functions having different frequency characteristics and are combined to obtain back-projection data, thereby reconstructing an image for the slice.
