  • Patent number: 7013042
Abstract: When saturation conversion is done by multiplying data by a saturation conversion parameter with a constant value regardless of image features, an image which can give good impression to the user cannot always be obtained. In this invention, an image is segmented into a predetermined number of blocks, and attributes are discriminated in units of blocks. Conversion characteristics are calculated on the basis of saturation conversion parameters of an image, which are set in correspondence with the discrimination result, and saturation is converted based on the calculated characteristics. In this way, appropriate saturation correction can be achieved in correspondence with the image attribute.

  • Patent number: 6987567
Abstract: A spectral distribution error evaluation apparatus is used to evaluate precision of color matching between evaluation and target colors. A first weighting function generator generates a first weighting function on the basis of color matching functions, wavelength characteristics which are independent of a light source of the target color, and visual characteristics which depend on wavelengths. A second weighting function generator generates a second weighting function on the basis of light source information of selected light sources. A difference calculator calculates error values between the evaluation and target colors for respective frequencies. An evaluation value calculator applies the first and second weighting functions to the error values, and calculates the sum total of the error values as an evaluation value.

  • Patent number: 6984338
Abstract: An Mn—Zn ferrite includes base components of 44.0 to 49.8 mol % Fe2O3, 4.0 to 26.5 mol % ZnO, 0.8 mol % or less Mn2O3, and the remainder consisting of MnO, and contains 0.20 (0.20 excluded) to 1.00 mass % CaO as additive. Since the Mn—Zn ferrite contains less than 50.0 mol % Fe2O3 and a limited amount (0.8 mol % or less) of Mn2O3, an abnormal grain growth does not occur even if CaO content is more than 0.20 mass %, and a high electrical resistance can be gained thereby realizing an excellent soft magnetism in a high frequency band such as 1 MHz.

  • Patent number: 6984337
Abstract: An Mn—Zn ferrite includes base components of 44.0 to 49.8 mol % Fe2O3, 4.0 to 26.5 mol % ZnO, at least one of 0.1 to 4.0 mol % TiO2 and SnO2, 0.5 mol % or less Mn2O3, and the remainder consisting of MnO, and contains 0.20 (0.20 excluded) to 1.00 mass % CaO as additive. Since the Mn—Zn ferrite contains less than 50 mol % Fe2O3 and a limited amount (0.5 mol % or less) of Mn2O3, an abnormal grain growth does not occur even if CaO content is more than 0.20 mass %, and a high electrical resistance can be gained. And, since an appropriate amount of TiO2 and/or SnO2 is contained, an initial permeability is kept adequately high, whereby an excellent soft magnetism can be achieved in a high frequency band such as 1 MHz.

  • Publication number: 20050219586
Abstract: It is desired to adopt gamut mapping using a color appearance space in the processing system of an ICC profile. Upon generating an LUT complying with the ICC profile format, when CIEL*a*b* values are converted into CIEXYZ values, and the XYZ values are converted into color appearance space values using color appearance conversion formulas, a point which can be converted and becomes a nearest neighboring point for a point that satisfies a predetermined condition is retrieved, and corresponding color appearance space values are calculated. The obtained color appearance space values are mapped on a predetermined device gamut.

  • Publication number: 20050219585
Abstract: It is desired to adopt gamut mapping using a color appearance space in the processing system of an ICC profile. Upon generating an LUT complying with the ICC profile format, a grid point outside of the visible region on the CIELAB space is moved into the visible region. The Lab values of the grid point are converted into XYZ values, which undergo color appearance conversion to acquire color appearance values. The acquired color appearance values are mapped on the color gamut of a predetermined device.
