  • Patent number: 6013809
Abstract: This invention relates to substituted heterocyclic benzocycloalkenes of general formula I or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, to a method of producing them and to their use as analgesics.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 11, 1998
Date of Patent: January 11, 2000
    Assignee: Gruenenthal GmbH
Inventors: Oswald Zimmer, Wolfgang Strassburger, Claudia Puetz, Werner Englberger, Babette-Yvonne Koegel
  • Patent number: 6004963
Abstract: A substituted 2,4-imidazolidinedione compound corresponding to the formula I ##STR1## a process for production thereof and the use of these compounds in a pharmaceutical preparation are described. Substituents R1, R2, R3 and R4 have the same meaning as defined in the specification.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 25, 1996
Date of Patent: December 21, 1999
    Assignee: Gruenenthal GmbH
Inventors: Oswald Zimmer, Hoerst Boehlke, Stephan Wnendt, Cornelia Geist, Kai Zwingenberger
  • Patent number: 5356921
    Abstract: 3- and 4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenol compounds corresponding to the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents NH.sub.2 or CH.sub.3, R.sup.2 represents H or CH.sub.3, X represents O or S, Y represents H, OH or OCH.sub.3, and Z represents --CH.dbd.CH--, O or S, or their salts, which exhibit 5-lipoxygenase and thromboxane synthase inhibiting activities.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 17, 1993
Date of Patent: October 18, 1994
    Assignee: Gruenenthal GmbH
Inventors: Joachim Ammann, Michael Haurand, Cornelia Geist, Werner Englberger, Oswald Zimmer
  • Patent number: 5254731
Abstract: Substituted 3,4-dihydronaphthalenes of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a methyl or an amino group, R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and R.sup.3 is a linear or branched chain alkyl residue having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an allyl or a crotyl group or a cyclopentyl group are disclosed which specifically inhibit 5-lipoxygenase and are useful in pharmaceutical compositions for prophylaxis and treatment of disorders attributable to the action of leucotrienes. The dihydronaphthalenes may be prepared by reacting a compound of formula II ##STR2## with hydroxylamine or a salt thereof to form the corresponding oxime, reducing the oxime to a hydroxylamine of formula III ##STR3## and introducing a --CO--R.sup.1 group.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 10, 1992
Date of Patent: October 19, 1993
    Assignee: Gruenenthal GmbH
Inventors: Oswald Zimmer, Werner Vollenberg, Johannes Schneider
  • Patent number: 5202349
Abstract: Substituted phenylacetylenes of the formula ##STR1## wherein one of the groups R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom and the other represents the group of the formula ##STR2## in which R.sub.3 is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl and R.sub.4 is a methyl or an amino group and wherein R.sub.2 represents mono- or binuclear aromatic or heterocyclic residues containing sulfur, nitrogen or oxygen as hetero atoms and optionally being substituted by 1 to 3 substituents as defined, which specifically inhibit 5-lipoxygenase and are useful in pharmaceutical compositions for prophylaxis and treatment of diseases due to the action of leukotrienes. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a compound of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sub.2 has the same meaning as above and one of the groups R.sub.7 is a hydrogen atom and the other represents the group of the formula --COR.sub.3, with hydroxylamine to form the oxime which then is reduced to the corresponding hydroxylamine compound into which the group of the formula --COR.sub.4 is introduced.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 18, 1991
Date of Patent: April 13, 1993
    Assignee: Gruenenthal GmbH
Inventors: Oswald Zimmer, Werner Vollenberg, Ulrich Seipp, Werner Englberger, Michael Haurand, Brigitte J. Bosman, Johannes Schneider
