  • Patent number: 10053079
Abstract: To effect redundant signal processing of a safety-relevant application, such as for a safety control unit of a motor vehicle, at least two redundant signals are fed from at least one sensor to an electronic circuit assembly as input signals for processing. At least one input signal is converted into a different test signal. In the electronic circuit assembly, the input signals are fed to a first peripheral module of a microcontroller, and the test signal is fed to an additional peripheral module. The sensor information of the input signals and of the test signal are thus redundantly processed independently of each other in a respective peripheral module of the microcontroller.

  • Patent number: 9764724
Abstract: A valve device for a pneumatically-operated vehicle brake system can adjust the pneumatic brake pressure that can be fed to a brake in a controlled manner. A first variant of the valve device is configured as a modulator for use in an electronically regulated embodiment of the brake system; and a second variant is configured for use in a pneumatically controlled embodiment of the brake system. • Patent number: 9676378
Abstract: A valve device for brake control of a different pressure medium-operated vehicle brake systems comprises a housing that has pressure medium ducts. A relay valve provides a pneumatic control pressure, which is fed to the relay valve via at least one of the pressure medium ducts at a higher flow rate. At least one insert is pneumatically connected to at least two of the pressure medium ducts, which can be pneumatically connected to each other by the insert. The two pressure medium ducts define a pressure medium path, the profile of which differs based on the housing that is in each case selected and/or switched based on the selected insert. The housing is selected from a set of housings having different pressure medium ducts, in particular bores, but which are otherwise essentially similar. The insert is selected from a set of different inserts.

  • Patent number: 9457775
Abstract: A control unit of a vehicle brake system has a receive circuit for tapping and processing a digital signal provided by an active speed sensor for speed measurement on a vehicle wheel. The signal includes information concerning the speed of a pole wheel, which is arranged in front of the sensor, spaced therefrom by an air gap, and which rotates along with the wheel. The signal also includes an actual air gap value digitized in stages and comprising several bits. The control unit also has a comparator circuit for comparing the actual air gap value to a reference air gap value and for determining whether the actual air gap value exceeds the reference value by more than a defined tolerance value. An information circuit of the control circuit generates early warning information when the comparator circuit determines that the actual air gap value exceeds the reference value by more than the tolerance value.

  • Publication number: 20160144844
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the redundant signal processing of a safety-relevant application, in particular of a safety control unit of a motor vehicle, wherein at least two redundant signals are fed from at least one sensor (4) to an electronic circuit assembly (2) as input signals (6) for processing of the sensor information. At least one input signal (6) is converted into a different test signal (16). In the electronic circuit assembly (2), the one or more input signals (6) are fed to a first peripheral module (12) of a microcontroller (10), and the test signal (16) is fed to an additional peripheral module (18) of the microcontroller (10). The sensor information of the input signals (6) and of the test signal (16) are thus redundantly processed independently of each other in a respective peripheral module (12, 18) of the microcontroller (10).

  • Patent number: 8795136
Abstract: An actuating device includes a vehicle operating brake and parking brake. A first braking effect is generated by the parking brake independently of a braking procedure for the operating brake. The actuating device comprises a first switched state, wherein the first braking effect of the parking brake cannot be provided, and a second switched state, wherein the first (full) braking effect of the parking brake is provided. The actuating device further comprises a manually actuatable operating element for actuating the parking brake that comprises travel positions. The actuating device is switched to the second switched state in a first travel position when the parking brake is released, and to the first switched state when the parking brake is applied. Also, the actuating device is switchable to a further switched state. In an actuating method, the actuating device is switched to the further switched state in response to an actuation.

  • Patent number: 8651588
Abstract: An electro-pneumatic brake control device is provided for controlling the parking brake of a vehicle having compressed-air-actuated brake cylinders, at least one of which is a spring brake cylinder with a spring store part. Valve devices place the brake control device into various operating states. In a first operating state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that a compressed air line to the spring store part of the spring brake cylinder is aerated. In a second state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that the compressed air line is deaerated. In a third state, which can be activated in the event of failure of the electrical energy supply of the brake control device, the valve devices are switched to a currentless state such that the compressed air line is automatically deaerated in throttled manner.
