  • Publication number: 20120006634
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuating device for a parking brake of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, wherein the actuating device comprises an operating brake for driving operation and the parking brake for securing the vehicle. A first braking effect can be generated by means of the parking brake for the vehicle independently of a braking procedure for the operating brake. The actuating device comprises a first switched state, wherein the first braking effect of the parking brake cannot be provided, and comprises a second switched state, wherein the first, in particular full, braking effect and the parking brake can be provided.

  • Publication number: 20100090522
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a brake device of a motor vehicle, comprising a service brake (16) and a parking brake (14). Upon activation of a rolling brake function (S1), and achieving a full stop of the vehicle, monitoring (S2) of an actuating element occurs with regard as to whether a driver has contact with an actuating element. In order to improve the safety of the rolling brake function, the invention provides that, if the monitoring (S2) finds that the driver has no contact with the actuating element, the parking brake (14) is applied (S3), or a braking pressure (14) is controlled using the service brake (16), the braking pressure corresponding to the maximum braking pressure (S10) that can be generated by the parking brake (14), by means of an electric or electronic brake device (26) for controlling the service brake (16) and the parking brake (14).

  • Publication number: 20100078988
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve unit (14) for an electro-pneumatic brake control device (10) for controlling a parking brake of a vehicle, wherein the valve unit (14) has at least one air-quantity-boosting valve device (64) for aerating and deaerating at least one spring brake cylinder (12) of the parking brake and at least one electrically actuable, control valve (86) for controlling the air-quantity-boosting valve device (64). In order to simplify the construction of the brake control device, the air-quantity-boosting valve device (64) and the control valve (86) are integrated in a common integral valve block (112).

  • Publication number: 20100025141
Abstract: An electro-pneumatic brake control device is provided for controlling a parking brake of a vehicle having a service brake and a parking brake, the service brake having a brake pedal and pneumatically actuatable brake cylinders operatively connected to the brake pedal for actuating wheel brakes. At least one brake cylinder is a spring brake cylinder with a spring store part for actuating the parking brake. In the event of a failure of the electrical energy supply, the spring store part of the spring brake cylinder is permanently vented by actuating the brake pedal in order to activate the parking brake.

  • Publication number: 20090256416
Abstract: The invention relates to a brake system (10) for a vehicle having a parking brake with an air-quantity-boosting valve device (34) for aerating and deaerating at least one spring brake cyclinder (14) of the parking brake, having at least one electrically actuable control valve (52) for controlling the air-quantity-boosting valve device (34), having an electrical control device (12), which is electrically coupled to the electrically actuable control valve (52), for controlling the electrically actuable control valve (52), and having an electrical actuating device (122), which is coupled to the control device (12), for actuating the parking brake. In order to be able to resort to available series-produced components, the air-quantity-boosting valve device (34), the control valve (52), the electrical control device (12) and the actuating device (122) are in each case embodied as autonomous, separate components which are arranged spatially separate from one another.

  • Publication number: 20090184568
Abstract: An electro-pneumatic brake control device is provided for controlling the parking brake of a vehicle having compressed-air-actuated brake cylinders, at least one of which is a spring brake cylinder with a spring store part. Valve devices place the brake control device into various operating states. In a first operating state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that a compressed air line to the spring store part of the spring brake cylinder is aerated. In a second state, the valve devices are at least partially supplied with current and switched such that the compressed air line is deaerated. In a third state, which can be activated in the event of failure of the electrical energy supply of the brake control device, the valve devices are switched to a currentless state such that the compressed air line is automatically deaerated in throttled manner.

  • Patent number: 7474951
Abstract: A method for the control of the drive slip in a vehicle with rear wheel drive, particularly when traveling on difficult terrain or in deep snow, involves independent detection of wheel speeds of both the rear/drive wheels and the front/non-drive wheels. Dynamic values, such as wheel acceleration values, of the front wheels are used as a criterion for increasing the drive slip value of the ASR. The drive slip value of the rear wheels is increased if the difference between the dynamic values, e.g., acceleration values, determined for the front wheels exceeds a threshold value. The increased drive slip value of the drive wheels under the difficult travel conditions results in increased traction as well as increased available engine power.

  • Publication number: 20080030068
Abstract: An electrically controlled brake system 10 for a tractor is provided that is equipped with an anti-jackknifing brake that can be actuated by means of a manual operating element and that acts only on the brakes of a trailer coupled to the tractor. The operating element is an electrical element which generates an electrical signal to control a valve device by means of which the braking force of the anti-jackknifing brake can be increased.

  • Publication number: 20050029859
Abstract: A fluid-pressure brake system for a vehicle having a parking brake function in which, in response to actuation of an electrical parking brake signal transmitter, and without actuation of a brake pedal, at least one wheel brake of the brake system is actuated via an actuator to which the fluid is admitted. A parking brake module is provided in which there is integrated an electronic control unit as well as valve devices that are electrically actuatable by the electronic control unit. The electronic control unit actuates the parking brake function upon receiving from the parking brake signal transmitter an electrical actuating signal demanding actuation of the parking brake function and, as part of the parking brake function, the electronic control unit controls the admission of fluid to the actuator by means of the electrically actuatable valve devices.
