  • Patent number: 6624123
Abstract: A hydraulic oil, a predominant amount of an oil having a viscosity suitable for lubrication, and from 0.03% to 0.06% of an agent improving filterability, corresponding to the formula R—Z. Z represents an ester of succinic acid comprising the reaction product of a succinic anhydride and an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol; or a succinimide comprising the reaction product of a succinic anhydride and a polyamine, the said reaction product being treated with an after-treatment agent. R represents a polyolefin having a molecular weight (Mn) of 500 to 2500 and an Mw/Mn ratio of 1 to 5.

  • Patent number: 6244541
Abstract: A device for the suspension of a payload in a space launch including annular chambers of fluid with variable geometry installed between the launch and the payload and first and second rigid members fixed, on either side of the chambers, to the payload and to the launch respectively so as to transmit the stresses between the latter through the chambers. The fluid chambers and the first and second rigid coupling members are coextensive, ring-shaped and coaxial with a longitudinal axis common to the launch and to the payload. The first and second annular rigid coupling members each include external and internal ribs respectively, axially separated by one of the annular fluid chambers.

  • Patent number: 6204226
Abstract: Mixture of alkyl phenyl sulfonates of alkaline earth metals having: (a) from 20% to 70% by weight of a linear mono alkyl phenyl sulfonate in which the linear mono alkyl substituent contains from 14 to 40 carbon atoms, preferably from 20 to 24 carbon atoms, and the mole % of the phenyl sulfonate radical fixed on position 1 or 2 of the linear alkyl chain is between 10% and 25%, preferably between 13% and 20%, and (b) from 30% to 80% by weight of a branched mono alkyl phenyl sulfonate in which the branched mono alkyl substituent contains from 14 to 18 carbon atoms.

  • Patent number: 5723221
Abstract: A press plate for decorative laminate production has an aluminum alloy core plate exhibiting a 0.2% compressive yield stress of not less than about 180 MPa at 140.degree. C., an aluminum cladding layer integrally bonded to opposing surfaces of the core plate, and a layer of aluminum oxide formed on the aluminous cladding which is substantially free of grain line effects.

  • Patent number: 5203215
Abstract: A mechanical component attachment safety system is disclosed wherein a position of a blcoking rod is controlled by an over-center lever assembly having a drive lever connected to the blocking rod by a cable actuating system and a link rod. Movement of the drive lever between its over-center positions causes the blocking rod to extend or retract, accordingly. When extended, the blocking rod will prevent closure of a cowl or protective panel and when retracted, will permit closure of the panel or cowl. The drive lever is engaged by a fastener attaching a mechanical component to a frame so as to be retained in a position in which the blocking rod is retracted. If the mechanical component is not properly attached, the fastener will not engage the drive lever, which is biased to its opposite over-center position so as to cause the extension of the blocking rod and prevent closure of the panel or cowl.

  • Patent number: 5068946
Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking hinge assembly for pivotally attaching a movable cowling panel to a stationary cowling portion in which the locking mechanism is incorporated into the hinge assembly. The hinge assembly includes pivoting links attaching the movable cowling panel to a stationary fitting member which, in turn, may be attached to the stationary cowling. The links, along with the stationary fitting member and the movable cowling panel form a quadrilateral with four pivot axes located at the apexes of the quadrilateral. The assembly includes a movable hook member mounted on the stationary fitting member such that it moves into engagement with a pivot shaft attaching one of the links to the movable cowling panel when the panel is in its closed position. A cam portion formed on one of the links contacts the hook member as the panel moves toward its closed position so as to move the hook member into engagement with the pivot shaft.

  • Patent number: 5035379
Abstract: A movable cowling for an aircraft is disclosed having a stationary fairing portion attached to an engine support pylon and a movable cowling portion. The movable cowling portion defines a generally longitudinally extending slot to accommodate the stationary fairing portion when the movable cowling portion is in its closed position to enclose the aircraft engine. The movable cowling portion, which may be generally annular in shape and have a generally "C"-shaped cross sectional shape, is attached to the engine by way of a telescoping beam. A portion of the beam is attached to the movable cowling and a second portion of the beam is attached to the engine. The movable cowling moves in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the engine such that it has no portions requiring lifting about a hinge axis. A locking mechanism is provided between the movable cowling portion and the stationary fairing to lock the movable cowling portion in its closed position.
