The media content provider records and or otherwise stores video content from around the world. Subscribers are provided a user interface to the system that includes a side bar. The user interface provides context sensitive hints to assist the viewer. The system also tracks a viewer's viewing history in a manner that allows the viewer to review and directly access any part of that history. Finally, magnetic points are created for use during video scrubbing to intelligently select relocation points for the current playback position.

Stored content will generally correspond to a large number of other media content providers, such as cable television operators, Internet based media content providers, television networks, and so on. Subscribers to the media provider interact with the media content provider via hardware and/or software mechanisms either provided by the media content provider or conforming to specifications of the media content provider. Based on these subscriber's subscriptions to the other content providers, the subscribers will have viewing, listening, or application execution privileges for content maintained in the data store. Content of a subscriber corresponding to multiple video content providers is maintained and served by a single provider.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to setting up an account for a service. A request to set up an account for a first service is received. In response to receiving the request to set up the account for the first service, a first login option and a second login option are displayed. If an input selecting the first login option is detected, a request to use first contact information for a user to set up the account for the first service is transmitted. If an input selecting the second login option is detected, a request to use second contact information for the user to set up the account for the first service is transmitted. The second contact information is automatically generated for the service and does not reveal the first contact information for the user.

The server device may transmit a ping message to the controller device via the router to determine whether the controller device is unreachable by the server device. Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods that allow activation of, and intuitive interactions with, a companion-display mode for an electronic device. An example method includes: receiving an instruction to operate the first electronic device in a companion-display mode in which user interfaces generated by a second electronic device are displayed at the first electronic device. Abstract: Events that are described in either structured data (e.g. HTML web page or email) or text in a natural language description can be extracted and entered into one or more calendars on a user's device. In one embodiment, selecting an add event command in a calendar application can cause the calendar application to search, without having received any search input, in a database of extracted events, and events extracted within a predetermined period of time can be suggested as events to add to the calendar. In one embodiment, an extracted event can cause a notification to be displayed to a user. Other embodiments are also described herein.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a computing device may conduct an active telephone conversation and a proximity of the computing device to a second computing device may be determined to be within a predetermined distance. Moreover, a determination of a capability of the second computing device to conduct a telephone conversation may be made, and in response to such determinations, the active telephone conversation may be transferred from the computing device to the second computing device. In an example, when a user holding a telephone conversation moves near a smart speaker, the telephone conversation may be transferred to the smart speaker from the user's mobile device, should the user desire such a transfer. Moreover, as the user moves around, the telephone conversation may move with the user from device to device, enabling a seamless and intuitive telephone conversation experience for the user.
