  • Publication number: 20230189763
Abstract: An animal management system for monitoring a plurality of animals over time includes a data management subsystem and a data acquisition subsystem, which includes RF asset tags. The data acquisition acquires data concerning the animals and efficiently provides it to aspects of the system for processing. The data may also include information from an environment data acquisition subsystem. The data management subsystem determines current wellness scores for each animal of a group of animals and a period wellness score for each animal over a larger period of time. Alerts may be sent went data shows an animal outside of threshold values. Other embodiments are presented.

  • Publication number: 20230174572
Abstract: Methods and system for solid phase peptide synthesis are provided. Solid phase peptide synthesis is a known process in which amino acid residues are added to peptides that have been immobilized on a solid support. New amino acid residues are added via a coupling reaction between an activated amino acid and an amino acid residue of the immobilized peptide. Amino acids may be activated using, e.g., a base and an activating agent. Certain inventive concepts, described herein, relate to methods and systems for the activation of amino acids. These systems and methods may allow for fewer side reactions and a higher yield compared to conventional activation techniques as well as the customization of the coupling reaction on a residue-by-residue basis without the need for costly and/or complex processes.

  • Publication number: 20220232805
Abstract: Systems and methods for tracking certain activities of a plurality of animals in a feedlot involve a plurality of RF asset tags attached to the plurality of animals and a plurality of RF detector stations that are operable to read unique identifier codes associated with each of the plurality of RF asset tags. Members of the plurality of RF detector stations are positioned, at least for some, proximate to at least one water trough and at least one feed trough, and are operable to transmit data concerning the RF asset tags detected over a communication link to an asset management subsystem. Duplicate signals may be reduced, signal filtered and smoothed, and energy conserved with certain approaches taken with the RF detector stations. Other systems and devices are presented.
