Publication number: 20250257494Abstract: Methods and configurations for melting silicon by induction using tantalum as a heat-delivery seed are presented. The tantalum supports induction-generated electrical eddy currents and resultantly heats to relatively high temperatures. The heat of the tantalum then conducts into surrounding silicon, which melts. Because the tantalum does not melt at the relatively low melting temperature of silicon, the tantalum will not contaminate the molten silicon, which may thus have a high purity. The melted silicon may then be used in processes that form thin films on a substrate or ingots.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 9, 2024Publication date: August 14, 2025Inventors: Lauren Thomas Sagan, Vernon G. Harris, II, Patrick Michael McGarey, Albert Ridilla, Alexander Imbault, Eric D. Contreras

Patent number: 12346923Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for probabilistic search biasing and recommendations. A system including at least one processor may be configured to receive an input relating to an identified item, generate a database query based on the input, and receive a response to the database query. The response may include information on comparable items similar to the identified item, and corresponding metadata for the comparable items. The corresponding metadata may include a range of values corresponding to the comparable items. The system may be further configured to generate a probability score for at least two values of the range of values, based at least on the corresponding metadata for the comparable items. The system may be further configured to output at least a suggested value based on at least the generated probability score for the range of values and prompt for further input.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2022Date of Patent: July 1, 2025Assignee: MERCARI, INC.Inventors: Byong Mok Oh, Dhruv Mehrotra, Chiaki Osaka, Naoya Makino, Patrick Michael Wiseman, Minami Sueyasu

Patent number: 12317402Abstract: A conical inductively coupled plasma (ICP) torch (100) and a method for processing sample particles is disclosed. In this method raw, unprocessed, irregularly shaped sample particles (21) are injected into the conical torch, and pass through the plasma to form molten particles (22) and a spheroidization of the particles finally generates solid, smooth, spherical and dense processed particles (23) once cooled. The conical torch has a torch tube that has a conical section and an injector tube (2) that has a conical end. The conical section of the torch tube and the injector tube form an annular gap through which outer plasma gas is passed through. This conically exiting outer gas flow results in a rapid rise in gas temperatures and a short plasma region that rapidly melts any particles.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2021Date of Patent: May 27, 2025Inventors: Patrick Michael Mirek, Sina Alavi, Javad Mostaghimi

Publication number: 20250078886Abstract: Disclosed in some examples are methods, systems, memory devices, and machine-readable mediums which store a single compressed value per line with a marker value in a front of the compressed version of the memory line. In some examples, the only value stored in the memory line is the value normally stored therein. This removes the complexity of the prediction tables and the inclusion of invalid values as well as preventing the penalty when those prediction tables are wrong. Furthermore, by inclusion of the marker in the beginning of the memory line, the system can quickly determine the compression status of the memory line without having to read the entire line. That is, it can quickly stop reading the rest of the memory line once the compressed data is read out which saves the memory device from having to read the entire line.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 30, 2024Publication date: March 6, 2025Inventor: Patrick Michael Sheridan

Patent number: 12244760Abstract: Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that authenticates a caller using calling party information. In an embodiment, an authentication device receives the call request and associated calling party information that includes a calling party number. The authentication device retrieves parameters associated with the calling party number, where a retrieved parameter is a number of accounts linked to the calling party number. The authentication device determines whether the number of accounts is between one and a threshold value, inclusive, and verifies that the call request originates from a location or a device associated with the calling party number. Based on the verifying and determining, the authentication device generates an authentication result that indicates whether the calling party number is authenticated.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2022Date of Patent: March 4, 2025Assignee: TrustID, Inc.Inventors: Patrick Michael Cox, Shreyas Dattatraya Saitawdekar, Richard J.
