  • Publication number: 20240117001
Abstract: Provided herein are polypeptides that bind to the malodour-causing substance DMTS. Also provided are nucleic acid sequences that encode for the polypeptides. Further provided herein is a method for identifying a compound that binds, suppresses, blocks, inhibits, and/or modulates the activity of one or more olfactory receptor that is activated by the malodor-causing substance DMTS comprising a) contacting the receptor, or a chimera or fragment thereof with a compound and b) determining whether the compound has an effect on the activity of the receptor. Further provided is an expression vector comprising the nucleic acid encoding the polypeptides described as well as a non-human organism or a host cell modified to express a receptor that is activated by DMTS. Also provided is the use of the polypeptides for identifying malodor modulating compounds.

  • Publication number: 20240096081
Abstract: A method of training a neural network for use in surface metrology includes providing height image data comprising a series of height measurements of a sample, the height image data comprising a plurality of features; obtaining, from the height image data, a plurality of height image patches, each height image patch containing at least a portion of a feature. The method also includes applying one or more effects to each of the height image patches to obtain a corresponding modified height image patch for each height image patch and inputting one or more of the modified height image patches into the neural network. The method further includes using the neural network to identify a feature in each of the one or more modified height image patches and training the neural network based on the identification.

  • Publication number: 20240079123
Abstract: Embodiments of ultrasound utility station and methods for using the same are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes displaying a status of the ultrasound machine that indicates a location of the ultrasound machine and an amount of charge of a battery of the ultrasound machine, and displaying an additional status that indicates an additional location of the ultrasound utility station and one or more available ultrasound probes on the ultrasound utility station. After receiving a selection of an ultrasound probe of the available ultrasound probes and a user input that determines a schedule for said configuring the ultrasound machine, the method instructs the ultrasound utility station to charge the battery of the ultrasound machine and provide the ultrasound probe for transfer to the ultrasound machine.

  • Patent number: 11722150
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to error resistant logging. A write-ahead log (WAL) for preserving a verifiable record of file system activity may be provided such that the WAL may include a sequence of log blocks that each may include a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) value of a next adjacent log block in the WAL. In response to executing a file system operation associated with payload data, further actions may be performed, including: generating log blocks based on the payload data; generating a log segment that includes the log blocks; modifying a portion of the contents of a head-block of the log segment such that the modified head-block of the log segment has a CRC value that matches a CRC value of a tail-block of the WAL; copying the contents of the modified head-block of the log segment into the tail-block of the WAL.

  • Patent number: 11669255
Abstract: A file system with distributed resource caching that includes cache volumes and agents that may be associated with clients of the file system may be provided. A cache allocation for each agent may be determined based on a capacity of the cache volumes and a number of the agents such that each cache allocation is associated with tokens that each represents a reserved portion of free space in the cache volumes. Storage jobs may be provided to the agents. Data associated with the storage jobs may be stored in the cache volumes. The cache allocation for each agent may be reduced based on the data stored for each agent.

  • Publication number: 20230013242
Abstract: A system and method of providing two-way communication between an isolated POS system and a website are described. The POS system operates as an air gap system. In response to detecting a trigger event the two-way communication is initiated for installation, diagnostic and repair services. POS information for transmission to the website through the internet is generated using a QR code that includes the website address and a data payload that depends on the desired service. The QR code is read by a smart phone and transmitted to the website. The website responds by sending response data dependent on the QR code and desired service. The response data is communicated to the POS system via another QR code for further operations by the POS system based thereon.

  • Patent number: 10742322
Abstract: A format of an Infrared (IR) transmission from an IR remote is matched to a corresponding IR protocol format for a starting sequence associated with the transmission. Next, a format of a payload that follows the starting sequence in the transmission is matched to a payload format associated with the matched protocol format. Assuming both the starting sequence and the payload formats match, the transmission is relayed and/or replayed over an IR re-transmitter situated in proximity to an IR-enabled device associated with the IR remote, and the IR-enabled device processes a command represented in the payload of the transmission. When either the starting sequence fails to match a supported IR protocol or the payload format fails to match a given supported IR protocol, the transmission is ignored and discarded as unverified.
