  • Patent number: 12203387
Abstract: A method for redirection of coolant flow is provided. The method includes an identifying step that identifies a hot spot on an exterior surface of a body of a component of a turbine system. A first parameter of the component indicates that a temperature of the exterior surface in the hot spot exceeds a threshold value. Another identifying step identifies a cool spot on the exterior surface. A second parameter of the component indicates that the temperature of the exterior surface in the cool spot is below the threshold value. A reconfiguring step reconfigures a plurality of cooling passages of the component to direct a portion of a coolant from the cool spot to the hot spot.

  • Publication number: 20240140082
Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, devices, and optical components are described. One or more materials used in an optical system may be bonded together using a pulsed laser beam. The bonding process may include transmitting a pulsed laser to irradiate an interface between two components, which may include two optical components or an optical component and a mounting component. The pulsed laser may generate one or more bonding locations where the components are in relatively close contact with each other, which may secure the components together via at least partial melting of material at one or more surfaces of the components. In some examples, the pulsed laser may be scanned over the bonding locations some quantity of times and/or using a pattern to achieve the bond. In some aspects, one or more absorbing layers may be added to the components.

  • Publication number: 20240141503
Abstract: A method of applying a dielectric coating on a structure array of a component of an electrical device includes applying a first layer of a first dielectric material on a structure array with an atomic layer deposition (ALD) process or a spin-on cladding process. The structure array has a plurality of features. The method may include applying a second layer of a second dielectric material on the first layer with an evaporation deposition process, a physical vapor deposition process (PVD), or a flux-controlled chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. The first layer has a first thickness and the second layer has a second thickness that is greater than the first thickness.

  • Publication number: 20230360001
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for controlling access, of an employer, to verified credentials associated with a candidate during a recruitment process, such that the employer is protected from accessing the verified credential prior to delivery of the offer of employment. In some example embodiments, a confirmation is received indicating that the candidate has provided authorization that permits access of an employer to a verified credential associated with the candidate. Access of the employer to the verified credential is prevented until after a digital employment offer is verified and communicated to the candidate. After having communicated the digital offer of employment to the candidate, access of the employer to the verified credential is permitted. In some example embodiments, the authorization of access of the employer to the verified credential is stored as a variable in a smart contract of a distributed ledger.

  • Patent number: 11004839
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to an apparatus and method of integrating a semiconductor cell in a non-active area of a MOSFET on a semiconductor substrate. An active area of the MOSFET may include a regular MOSFET cell. The semiconductor cell which can have various structures is configured to function as trench MOS barrier Schottky (TMBS) diode. Depending on its structure the TMBS diode may be integrated in a termination region or a shield tie region or a gate finger neighboring region in the non-active area. The integrated TMBS diode as such can limit the body diode conduction and improve the conduction and switching efficiency in a circuit. Additionally, an integrated TMBS diode may improve the softness of reverse recovery of the MOSFET, reduce drain to source voltage overshoot and ringing due to softer recovery and/or shield bounce without wasting any active area of the semiconductor die of the MOSFET.

  • Patent number: 9810673
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed to determine that a cannabis plant has been cultivated under desired cultivation conditions. Quantitative processes are disclosed, based on stable carbon isotope ratio analysis, and using modeling constraints and Bayesian approaches to produce a likelihood that a cannabis plant was cultivated under desired conditions (e.g., indoors), and provide a quantitative estimate of the average CO2 concentration in the growth environment.
