  • Publication number: 20120197150
Abstract: An external physiological monitor continuously senses and monitors cardiac function of a patient to allow detection of cardiac events and the recording of data and signals pre- and post-event. The monitor is connected to and suspended on the patient's body solely by the electrode assembly. Stored diagnostic data may be uplinked and evaluated by the patient's physician utilizing a programmer via a two-way telemetry link. An external patient activator may optionally allow the patient, or other care provider to manually activate the recording of diagnostic data.

  • Publication number: 20110253392
Abstract: A technique enables control over flow in a wellbore with a flow control system. The flow control system combines a flow reduction mechanism with a flow control device, such as a valve. The flow reduction mechanism comprises a closure member which can be selectively moved between an unactuated and actuated position, allowing relatively greater flow through the flow control device in the unactuated position. The flow reduction mechanism actuates prior to or in conjunction with the flow control device to reduce flow and thus reduce the loading forces that would otherwise act against the flow control mechanism upon closure of the flow control device.

  • Publication number: 20110038315
Abstract: Mesh communications based on a plurality of time-slots in which every time slot is associated with communications between a pair of nodes, in which at least one time-slot is associated with communications between a first node and a second node, and in which at least a second time-slot is associated with communications between the first node and a third node. The first node and the second node communicate during the at least one time-slot, while the third node awaits communications with the first node during the second time-slot. If the first node is still communicating with the second node during the second time-slot the first node does not communication with the third node.

  • Publication number: 20100114241
Abstract: A therapy or monitoring system may implement one or more techniques to mitigate interference between operation of a charging device that charges a first implantable medical device (IMD) implanted in a patient and a second IMD implanted in the patient. In some examples, the techniques may include modifying an operating parameter of the charging device in response to receiving an indication that a second IMD is implanted in the patient. The techniques also may include modifying an operating parameter of the second IMD in response to detecting the presence or operation of the charging device.

  • Patent number: 7688739
Abstract: A mesh network routing protocol for optimizing network data transmission capacity using a cost analysis based upon a links proximity to the gateway or other bandwidth constrained node. Specifically, the protocol computes a plurality of routing costs associated with each data path, compares the routing costs, and then selects the data path associated with the lowest routing cost for the transmission of data. Each link in each of the paths is weighted in view of its proximity to an ingress/egress point to the mesh network or other bandwidth constrained node or link of the network.

  • Publication number: 20080310346
Abstract: A wireless mesh communication protocol that dynamically assigns communication time-slots and frequencies to mesh nodes. A first node is established as a PC that sequentially polls other nodes. A second node responds at a predetermined time with information that includes database records, and then a third node responds similarly. The second node is then established as the PC and the first node is polled during dynamically allocated time-slots and on a frequency that depend on the second node's database records. The third node is then established as a PC and acts similarly. In both cases the first node responds by sending information and data records. The first node is then re-established as the PC. The first node then polls the second and third nodes at times and frequencies that depend on the first node's database records.

  • Patent number: 6978228
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of performing a system reverse engineering process. The method provides for an examination of the application system that requires reverse engineering by examining the entire network structure forming the system, by tracking chains of nodes and links in accordance with a predetermined tracking method, that will ensure a complete examination. The information gathered from the examination will permit formatting of the information into a form in which it represents the application system in a usable form. The method of the invention provides also for the creation of a software program or an entire software system that can be employed for carrying out the reverse engineering process.
