Publication number: 20250100176Abstract: The invention is a taper jig that provides a significant improvement of previous art by using pins and horizontal clamping to secure the workpiece. It is ideally suited for tapering square and rectangular workpieces for table and chair legs. The use of pins in the hold-downs into the workpiece enable the user to more safely hold the workpiece while tapering up to all four of the longitudinal sides. The use of horizontal clamping pressure enables a workpiece at or near the full capacity of the saw to be tapered. While all researched taper jigs use some variation of Carter's jig to provide the angle of taper, this invention improves on those designs in the manner the workpiece is secured.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 25, 2023Publication date: March 27, 2025Inventors: Paul Anthony Coartney, Preston Coartney

Patent number: 12220146Abstract: Rotational atherectomy devices and systems can remove or reduce stenotic lesions in blood vessels by rotating one or more abrasive elements within the vessel. The abrasive elements are attached to a distal portion of an elongate flexible drive shaft that extends from a handle assembly that includes a driver for rotating the drive shaft. In particular implementations, individual abrasive elements are attached to the drive shaft at differing radial angles in comparison to each other (e.g., configured in a helical array). The centers of mass of the abrasive elements can define a path that spirals around the drive shaft in a direction that is opposite to the wind direction of filars of the drive shaft, and opposite to the direction of rotation. In some embodiments, a concentric abrasive tip member is affixed to and extends distally from a distal-most end of the drive shaft.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2022Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: Cardio Flow, Inc.Inventors: Paul Joseph Robinson, Cassandra Ann Piippo Svendsen, Albert Selden Benjamin, Charles Anthony Plowe
