  • Publication number: 20220280065
Abstract: A method for stratifying severity of asthma of a patient initially comprises receiving acoustic data corresponding to sounds of the patient from an acoustic sensor and identifying, by a processor, at least one cough sound in the acoustic data. With or without the patient being present, the method further involves determining, by operation of the processor, one or more overall cough sound feature values of the at least one cough sound for each of one or more characteristic features. The overall cough sound feature values are then applied to a classifier that is implemented by the processor and which has been pre-trained with a training set of characteristic feature values from a population of asthmatic and non-asthmatic subjects. The method then involves monitoring an output from the pre-trained classifier to deem the patient cough sound as indicating one of a number of degrees of severity of asthma.

  • Patent number: 11436469
Abstract: Described herein is a conversation engine that can be used in a system such as a personal digital assistant or search engine that combines a dynamic knowledge graph built during execution of a request and one or more static knowledge graphs holding long term knowledge. The conversation engine comprises a state tracker that holds the dynamic knowledge graph representing the current state of the conversation, a policy engine that selects entities in the dynamic knowledge graph and executes actions provided by those entities to move the state of the conversation toward completion, and a knowledge graph search engine to search the static knowledge graph(s). The conversation is completed by building the dynamic knowledge graph over multiple rounds and chaining together operations that build toward completion of the conversation. Completion of the conversation results in completion of a request by a user.

  • Publication number: 20220247465
Abstract: Multi-User Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) data transmissions are provided with a forward-predictive precoding matrix to mitigate the effects of a change in a state of a communication channel. First and second soundings are performed, at first and second times, to a receive antenna over a channel and, responsive to each of the soundings, first and second Channel State Information (CSI) are received. Based on the first and second CSI, a change in a state of the channel over a time period between the first and second time is determined. Based on the change in the state of the channel, a forward-predictive channel state matrix and/or a forward-predictive precoding matrix are determined that reflect a state of the channel at a future time and that are consistent with the determined change in the state over the time period. The forward-predictive precoding matrix is applied to a data transmission.

  • Patent number: 11378601
Abstract: The invention relates to an operational state determination apparatus (1) for determining whether a variation in a determined electrical parameter of an electrical network (2) is caused by a variation in an operational state of an electrical consumer of the electrical network. The electrical network comprises multiple electrical consumers (3, 4, 5) and a voltage source (6), wherein a variation classification unit (10) determines whether a variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network is caused by a variation in the operational state of an electrical consumer of the network depending on a decision variable which depends on a variation in a measured voltage and a variation in a measured current of the electrical network. This determination can be performed, without directly using the variation in the determined electrical parameter of the electrical network and is therefore less influenced by random voltage fluctuations in the electrical network.
