  • Patent number: 4777771
Abstract: A grinding tool has two bodies each provided with a row of grinding segments and arranged so that the bodies with the grinding segments are movable relative to one another; the grinding segments of one row are offset relative to the grinding segments of the other row so that upon movement of the base bodies relative to one another the rows of the grinding segments are insertable into each other at least over their partial length; the grinding segments are arranged on the supporting segments, the supporting segments are arranged on the grinding segment receivers, which in turn are arranged on the base bodies, and each of the supporting segments with the respective grinding segment carried thereby is releasably fixable in the respective grinding segment receiver in two respective mirror-inverted operative positions.

  • Patent number: 4742726
Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a means of limiting the axial play of a motor shaft while dispensing with the use of an adjustable stop screw that has to be secured separately after it has been set. In particular, and apparatus is provided that can be used with automated manipulators. For this purpose it is recommended, according to the invention, that as a stopping element a single piece disk of appropriate thickness or a single piece disk stamped parallel to the motor assembly machine out of strip material, with an axially stamped depression of appropriate depth, is to be inserted rigidly in a pocket fixed in the housing. The invention is particularly well-suited for application in small motors with a shaft mounted on plain bearings.

  • Patent number: 4698393
Abstract: The preparation of poly(arylene ether ketones) by Friedel-Crafts polymerization, in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst and a diluent, is conducted under conditions in which the polymer and/or its complex with the catalyst is suspended in the diluent during at least part of the polyreaction mixture if desired. The dispersant may be a polymer or an organic compound containing at least eight carbon atoms and is preferably a Lewis base. The dispersant preferably contains at least one molecular segment substantially compatible with the poly(arylene ether ketone) or its complex with the Lewis acid and substantially incompatible with the diluent and at least one molecular segment substantially compatible with the diluent and substantially incompatible with the poly(arylene ether ketone) or its complex with the Lewis acid.

  • Patent number: 4582360
Abstract: A hinge for a seat, particularly a power vehicle seat, has a stationary hinge member associated with a seat part of the seat, a pivotable hinge member associated with a backrest part of the seat, a pivot axle pivotally connecting the hinge members with one another, an adjusting and fixing device arranged to determine a position of the hinge members relative to one another and formed as a wobble transmission including an eccentric member associated with a cam region of the pivot axle and rotatable together with the latter, an accumulator arranged in the cam region of the pivot axle to radially adjust an eccentricity which determines an engaging point of the wobble transmission and formed as an eccentric ring with an inner longitudinal opening in direction of eccentricity and surrounding a centric portion of the pivot axle, a pressing member located between the longitudinal opening and the centric portion of the pivot axle and arranged to be pressed by the accumulator for maintaining an extreme eccentricity in

  • Patent number: 4325731
Abstract: A process for reducing an ore which comprises:(A) gasifying a solid carbonaceous granular fuel by contacting the same in a fixed bed with oxygen and steam at a pressure of 5 to 50 bars;(B) subjecting the gas produced from said gasification to shift conversion in order to reduce the residual carbon monoxide content to 1 to 10 percent by volume of dry gas(C) scrubbing the gaseous shift conversion gas to remove sulfur compounds and to reduce the CO.sub.2 content to no more than 3 percent by volume whereby to provide a scrubbed gas containing more than 70 percent by volume hydrogen and carbon monoxide which gas contains more than 10 percent by volume methane(D) admixing the so scrubbed gas with reduction process exhaust gas formed by reduction of ore(E) reforming the resultant mixture of gases at a pressure of 1.5-10 bars a temperature of 800.degree. to 1500.degree. C.; and(F) feeding at least a portion of such gas containing up to 3 percent by volume CO.sub.2 and 5 percent by volume methane at 700.degree.-1000.

  • Patent number: 4165970
Abstract: An improvement in a known process and apparatus for gasifying coal with water vapor and oxygen under pressure and at elevated temperature wherein coal is dropped onto a grate within a reactor supplied with gasifying agent from below, product gas being withdrawn above. In accordance with the invention an annular wall depends from the reactor top to form an annular gas space through which product gas is withdrawn. The annular space surrounds the top of the coal bed so the coal is preheated thereby. The wall is provided with apertures so that at least 20% of the product gas enters the annular space by traversing that part of the coal bed surrounded by the wall. This results in reduced product gas velocity and entrainment of coal dust.
