  • Publication number: 20180121897
Abstract: Described is a retail store electronic scanning game and purchase system that includes electronic scan devices for both children and parents. The device used by the parent can electronically purchase items through the retail store purchase utility. The child's electronic scan device is made a slave device to the parent's device by subserviently coupling the child's device to the parent's device. All purchasing and gaming communications from the slave device are routed through the parent device for approval. The parent can give the children shopping tasks such as finding products for purchase and scanning them. The child can participate in shopping games with the slave electronic scan devices. The parent can award game points to the children, and approve or reject purchases presented by the children. The children can have fun and participate in shopping tasks, with the parent overseeing all game and shopping activities of the children.

  • Patent number: 9657700
Abstract: An inlet valve arrangement for a pump head of a fuel pump for use in a common rail fuel injection system comprises an inlet valve member moveable between open and closed positions to control the flow from a source of low-pressure fuel to a pumping chamber of the fuel pump. The inlet valve member is arranged to open in response to the pressure difference between the fluid pressure of fuel on an inlet side of the inlet valve member and the fluid pressure in the pumping chamber exceeding a threshold value. The inlet valve arrangement comprises means for selectively applying a closing force on the inlet valve member to bias it toward the closed position, such that, in use, the application of the closing force by said means acts to increase the threshold value of the pressure difference at which the inlet valve member opens.

  • Publication number: 20140272888
Abstract: Engaging a plurality of users in an interactive activity in an educational environment includes receiving information that corresponds to an annotation entered by a first user of a first subordinate device of a plurality of subordinate devices. A representation of the annotation entered by the first user while the first user is annotating on the first subordinate device is presented, using a processor, on an instructor device. Information is received that corresponds to an annotation entered by a second user of a second subordinate device of the plurality of subordinate devices. A representation of the annotation entered by the second user is presented on the second the instructor device using the processor while the second user is annotating on the second subordinate device and while the instructor device simultaneously presents the representation of the annotation entered by the first user on the first subordinate device.

  • Patent number: 8794939
Abstract: A pump head suitable for use in a fuel pump for a common rail fuel injection system, comprises a pump head housing defining a plunger bore and a pumping chamber. Fuel is pressurized within the pumping chamber by a plunger reciprocating within the plunger bore. The pump head housing includes an inlet valve arrangement for controlling fuel flow into the pumping chamber. The inlet valve arrangement includes a valve member movable between open and closed positions in response to fuel pressure within a gallery. The gallery communicates with an external chamber defined by a closure member externally mounted to the pump head housing. In use, the gallery communicates with a source of low-pressure fuel via the external chamber. The pump head housing has a projection which locates the closure member on the pump head housing.

  • Publication number: 20140127062
Abstract: A plunger pump includes a housing with a discharge valve in communication with an outlet. The housing includes a bore that slidably accommodates a plunger. The housing also includes an inlet. The plunger has a closed proximal end connected to an actuator and a distal end with an outlet valve. The plunger also includes a sidewall with an opening that is in communication with the inlet of the housing. Fluid flows through the inlet and through the opening and into the plunger. When the plunger is retracted away from the discharge valve, the outlet valve of the plunger opens thereby providing fluid for the housing bore. As the plunger is moved towards the discharge valve, pressure in the housing bore increases thereby opening the discharge valve and permitting the pressurized fluid to exit through the outlet.

  • Patent number: 8484179
Abstract: Search results and associated search-result details are provided in response to user queries. Embodiments include identifying a number of search-result details for different indexed search results, identifying one or more detail-attributes for each search-result detail, and identifying one or more user-attributes for a particular user. These search results, associated search-result details, and associated detail-attributes may be stored in a database. Upon receiving a search query from the user, search results may be generated. Search-result details specific to each search result and specific to the end-user may also be generated by identifying the detail-attributes associated with each search-result detail and the user-attributes associated with the end-user. These search results may then be presented to the end-user. Upon receiving an indication of interest in a particular search result, the search result details may then be presented to the end user.

  • Publication number: 20100241477
Abstract: The disclosed inventions and embodiments relate to the propagation of information among workflow applications used by a design project such as a construction design project and the creation and use of dimensioned and animated models for such projects. The workflow applications may be extended to enable participation in the information sharing or the system may provide functionality external to the tools that facilitates the participation of the tools. Information from various sources, including the workflow applications and third party sources, can be represented and modeled in an animation system. Sometimes the propagation is enabled in part by a store of information that also enabled reuse and reporting. Information used and generated by the various workflow applications is kept consistent among the different workflow applications and among the different representations of that information.
