  • Patent number: 9855482
Abstract: Golf training aid for improving a golfer's golf swing, insertable into a grip end of a golf club. The aid having a rod slidably connected to the grip end of the golf club, with the first end and a portion of the rod received within the hollow shaft of the golf club. A training element is connected to the second end of the rod and disposed outwardly beyond the grip end of the shaft of the golf club. The rod is slidably moveable from a retracted position to an extended position during a golf swing via gravity. In the retracted position, the training element is located adjacent the grip end of the golf club and a portion of the rod is received within the shaft. In the extended position, the rod is extended outwardly and the training element is spaced apart from the grip end of the golf club.

  • Publication number: 20170022568
Abstract: Sepsis remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in neonates worldwide. There is also clinically a low threshold for suspicion of infection in neonates, in particular as presentation varies greatly from very subtle to catastrophic collapse. The lack of reliably sensitive tests and the potential life-threatening consequences of delayed treatment of infection results in the widespread use of empirical antibiotics exposing many infants without infection to broad-spectrum antibiotics. The present invention provides a series of patient-invariant biomarkers for screening neonates and other subjects for infection that predicts bacterial infection with high accuracy; and is further shown to have predictive value in identifying infection in suspected cases with blood-culture negative tests.

  • Patent number: 8818157
Abstract: An optical fiber or cable storage module includes a back wall and a number of resilient mounting fingers extending from the back wall, and a fiber supply spool having an axial bore formed to receive the mounting fingers and to engage the fingers when the spool is urged toward the back wall so that the spool is restrained from axial movement. The spool includes a hub, and a first winding section for containing a length of fiber sufficient to route between a service terminal outside a user premises and a location near a user terminal inside the premises. The mounting fingers have corresponding catches at the ends of the fingers, and the inner circumference of the bore in the supply spool has an annular groove formed to seat the catches for restraining the spool from axial movement.

  • Publication number: 20060093557
Abstract: Nanoparticles are prepared from a colloidal system comprising a continuous phase and micelles, the micelles comprising surfactant material. A microemulsion is formed by admixing the colloidal system with a solution of an active material, such as a medicament, dissolved in a solvent wherein the solution forms a disperse phase with the micelles of surfactant material. At least the dispersed phase is quenched to a solid state and the continuous phase and solvent are removed to produce the nanoparticles. The nanoparticles can be incorporated in an aerosol composition suitable for deep lung delivery by means of a metered dose inhaler.
