  • Publication number: 20100089376
Abstract: A bow press for quickly collapsing a compound bow includes a frame with a horizontally extending rail. First and second bow support arms are pivotally secured to rail supported subassemblies, of first of which is fixed and a second slidable along the rail. The support arms and associated subassemblies each grip first and second spaced apart and opposite surface locations of a selected bow limb. The support arms are simultaneously pivotally actuated by fluid cylinders incorporated into the subassemblies, in either of a bow limb compressing or bow limb relaxing direction.

  • Patent number: 6715479
Abstract: A torqueless buss cable positioner for a compound bow which is fixedly mounted thereto, whereby the buss cables are displaced from the bow plane, yet, optimally, the buss cables do not subject the limbs to any force component perpendicular to the bow plane. A guided path for the buss cables is provided which includes first and second outboard guidance component for guiding the buss cables generally in the bow plane and an inboard guidance components for guiding the buss cables laterally off from the bow plane. The first and second outboard guidance components optimally ensure that the limbs are not subjected by the buss cables to any component of force perpendicular to the bow plane, and the inboard guidance component ensures that the buss cables are laterally displaced in relation to the bow plane sufficiently to be out of the way of the arrow and the sights of the compound bow.

  • Patent number: 5722385
Abstract: A torqueless buss cable positioner for a compound bow, whereby the buss cables are displaced from the bow plane, yet, optimally, the buss cables do not subject the limbs to any force component perpendicular to the bow plane. The present invention provides two mutually spaced apart outboard guidance locations of the buss cables such that the limbs are not subjected to a force component perpendicular to the bow plane. In the preferred embodiment, this feature is provided by the location of the first and second pulley sets. Further, the present invention provides an inboard guidance location of the buss cables between the outboard guidance locations, whereby the buss cables are laterally displaced a sufficient length from the bow plane to get the buss cables out of the way of the arrow at its nocking location. In the preferred embodiment, this feature is provided by the location of the third pulley set.

  • Patent number: 5503135
Abstract: An archery apparatus for propelling an arrow includes a rigid main frame having a guide sheave situated at each of the opposing tips thereof. A main sheave is rotatably connected with a lower portion of the main frame. A bowstring extends between the guide sheaves, wherein each end thereof wraps around a respective periphery of mutually opposing perpheries of the main sheave and terminates connectably thereto. The actuation system of the archery apparatus includes a pair of tensioning mechanisms located on each side of the lower portion of the main frame. Each tensioning mechanism includes a coil spring, wherein a first end thereof connects to the lower portion of the main frame adjacent the guide sheave thereof and the second end of the coil spring connects to a tensioning cable. Each tensioning mechanism further includes a cam sheave connected with the lower portion of the main frame in spaced relation from both the axis of rotation of the main sheave and the second end of its respective spring.

  • Patent number: 4815428
Abstract: A drum type rotary valve aspiration control for an internal combustion engine having a single, perpendicularly oriented rotary valve for each cylinder. An intake port and an exhaust port are provided, one on either side of the rotary valve along its cylindrical axis. The cylindrical surface of the rotary valve has an aperture for each of the intake and exhaust aspiration functions. The rotary valve has separate internal chambers. One chamber, having an intake port, communicates with the intake aperture, while the other chamber, having an exhaust port, communicates with the exhaust aperture. A structure is also provided within the rotary valve for threadably retaining a spark plug and for permitting selective communication between the spark plug and the cylinder port. A spark plug access aperture is provided on the cylindrical surface for servicing. A slip ring apparatus is used to route an exterior spark plug cable to the spark plug. Provision is made for rotary valve sealing and lubrication.
