  • Patent number: 8220002
Abstract: The isolation of user-interactive components form the logical components of an exemplary computing application environment is provided. In an illustrative implementation, an exemplary computing application environment comprises one or more user interface (UI) elements that run on an exemplary user-interface processing thread and application logic that illustratively operatively runs asynchronously on at least one other processing thread. In an illustrative implementation an isolation boundary is provided between an exemplary user interface and the application logic of the exemplary computing application environment. In the illustrative implementation, the isolation boundary can comprise an asynchronous view contract comprising a channel between an exemplary view layer of an exemplary user interface (e.g., one or more user-interactive components) and application logic.

  • Patent number: 8152978
Abstract: The present invention concerns a probe for measuring hydrogen concentration in molten metals comprising a probe body and a hydrogen sensor. The sensor structure is based on a sensor body having a wall within which a sealed cavity is defined. The cavity contains a solid reference material for generating a reference partial pressure of hydrogen within the cavity. At least a portion of the wall of the cavity is formed from a solid electrolyte material carrying a measurement electrode on a surface of the solid electrolyte outside the cavity and a reference electrode on a surface of the solid electrolyte within the cavity, exposed to the reference partial pressure of hydrogen. An electrical conductor extends from the reference electrode through the wall of the cavity to an external surface of the sensor body. The probe body comprises a chamber for receiving the sensor and a reference-signal connection for connecting to the electrical conductor when the sensor is received in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20120006097
Abstract: The method and apparatus are intended for monitoring the concentration of a gas in a fluid medium, such as in a liquid or gas medium. In a probe for measuring the temperature and gas concentration in the fluid medium, a gas concentration sensor comprising first and second electrodes is supported at a probe end of a tubular support. The probe end, in use, contacts the fluid medium. A thermocouple comprising a thermocouple junction and two thermocouple wires extends within the tubular support and the first electrode of the gas concentration sensor is electrically connected to the thermocouple. In the method for monitoring gas concentration, the gas concentration is measured by monitoring a voltage between at least one of the thermocouple wires and the second electrode.

  • Patent number: 8085481
Abstract: An iris rod clamp, and lens drive motor mount using the clamp, is employed for attaching equipment such as lens motors to various movie/video cameras via the different sized iris rods used by these movie/video cameras. The clamp includes jaws with clamping surfaces that have multiple, parallel concave cylindrical profiles matching the different sizes of iris rods. The lens drive motor mount uses clamps and support arms with flat sides to keep alignment perpendicular to the lens. A D-clamp slides along a support arm to adjust location of the lens drive motor and a rosette rotates relative to the D-clamp to adjust angular position of the lens drive motor.

  • Publication number: 20110000558
Abstract: A pump for pumping water from a bowl of a washing machine is provided. The pump includes a housing coupled to the bowl and a cover with an aperture. The housing and the cover define an interior in fluid communication with the bowl interior via the aperture. A filter filters water entering the interior via the aperture. The filter has a profiled wall defining a volute around the aperture, and a hood disposed above the wall. The profile of the hood perimeter substantially corresponding to the profiled wall to define a profiled space between the perimeter and the profiled wall. The profiled space allows water to enter the volute but substantially prevents elongated objects entering the volute.

  • Patent number: 7631227
Abstract: A system, method of automated testing and control of networked devices is provided. One or more test cases are defined in a test plan for execution against a plurality of networked devices. The test cases are created using a command defined grammar comprising verbs which characterize how commands or actions should be performed. Abstraction markers allow for device-specific characteristics to be mapped to a target device, without modification of the test cases and the test plan itself. The verbs and abstraction markers, once mapped to a target device form device-specific commands comprising actions and device-specific characteristics which are executed against the target networked device. The resulting responses are parsed against expected responses and a result or verdict is assigned. By providing command grammar and abstraction capability a common test plan and test cases can be applied across a range of diverse networked devices without require user intervention or modification.
