  • Publication number: 20090193434
Abstract: The isolation of user-interactive components form the logical components of an exemplary computing application environment is provided. In an illustrative implementation, an exemplary computing application environment comprises one or more user interface (UI) elements that run on an exemplary user-interface processing thread and application logic that illustratively operatively runs asynchronously on at least one other processing thread. In an illustrative implementation an isolation boundary is provided between an exemplary user interface and the application logic of the exemplary computing application environment. In the illustrative implementation, the isolation boundary can comprise an asynchronous view contract comprising a channel between an exemplary view layer of an exemplary user interface (e.g., one or more user-interactive components) and application logic.

  • Patent number: 7567944
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for providing a context based work environment. In some embodiments, a computer system is configured to mine relationships to capture references relevant to a context. In other embodiments, a computer system adds a reference to a context. In yet other embodiments, a computer system performs a task when focus is shifted off of the task between performance of different portions of the task. Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention promote more efficient data manipulation at a computer system and can (potentially significantly) reduce the amount of work that has to be re-performed when a worker leaves and then subsequently resumes a task.

  • Publication number: 20090127133
Abstract: The present invention concerns a probe for measuring hydrogen concentration in molten metals comprising a probe body and a hydrogen sensor. The sensor structure is based on a sensor body having a wall within which a sealed cavity is defined. The cavity contains a solid reference material for generating a reference partial pressure of hydrogen within the cavity. At least a portion of the wall of the cavity is formed from a solid electrolyte material carrying a measurement electrode on a surface of the solid electrolyte outside the cavity and a reference electrode on a surface of the solid electrolyte within the cavity, exposed to the reference partial pressure of hydrogen. An electrical conductor extends from the reference electrode through the wall of the cavity to an external surface of the sensor body. The probe body comprises a chamber for receiving the sensor and a reference-signal connection for connecting to the electrical conductor when the sensor is received in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20090132915
Abstract: Application logic and user interfaces are separated to allow more than one interface or view to be easily employed for given application logic. A particular interface can be utilized to display data and/or facilitate interaction simply by identifying the interface. Available interfaces are identified to users for selection thereof. The specific interfaces and manner of identification can be filtered or otherwise controlled or arranged. Upon selection of an interface, data can be rendered accordingly. A transition can also be applied between switched interfaces.

  • Publication number: 20080120521
Abstract: A system, method of automated testing and control of networked devices is provided. One or more test cases are defined in a test plan for execution against a plurality of networked devices. The test cases are created using a command defined grammar comprising verbs which characterize how commands or actions should be performed. Abstraction markers allow for device-specific characteristics to be mapped to a target device, without modification of the test cases and the test plan itself. The verbs and abstraction markers, once mapped to a target device form device-specific commands comprising actions and device-specific characteristics which are executed against the target networked device. The resulting responses are parsed against expected responses and a result or verdict is assigned. By providing command grammar and abstraction capability a common test plan and test cases can be applied across a range of diverse networked devices without require user intervention or modification.

  • Publication number: 20070223319
Abstract: A watchwinder adapted for home use or in a retail store environment includes a horizontal dovetail groove or channel on the top, bottom and side surfaces of the watchwinder housing which cooperates with a removable interlocking bar or rail of mating dovetail shape to selectively and detachably interconnect adjacent watchwinders arranged in a vertical or side-by-side relation. The grooves preferably extend across the horizontal dimension of the watchwinder to a point short of the front of the housing for concealment purposes, and are made relatively wide in relation to the dimensions of the housing to improve rigidity of an interlocked grouping of watchwinders and to simplify assembly. Preferably, the channels are of equal size and shape and spaced equidistantly apart. An array of interlocked watchwinders can be built up to varying size and shape, and one or more of the watchwinders can be selectively removed from anywhere within the array without disturbing the others.

  • Publication number: 20070017496
Abstract: The improved method of adjusting the velocity of a closed bolt paintball marker is comprised of a wrench with a recessed channel designed to fit over the reduced diameter mid section of a modified cocking rod. This allows the wrench to be used to rotate the velocity adjusting nut without the need to remove the cocking rod from the marker's hammer assembly. This permits faster and more accurate changes to the velocity of the paintball as it leaves the barrel of the marker.

  • Publication number: 20030041503
Abstract: The Trapmaster is a complete carrying device for all of an ice-anglers tip-up traps, related gear, and extra clothing, etc. The partitioned compartments separate the traps to keep the line from becoming entangled. The backpack-style carrying straps evenly distribute the weight of the device for carrying long distances and allowing for free use of hands. The Trapmaster also rolls up and is fastened for easy, compact storage or transport. There are also hang features that allow the device to hang in an opened position for easy access to tip-ups and related gear or rolled up for compact storage.

  • Patent number: 5850804
Abstract: This invention is based on the discovery that there is a relationship between the fouling rate of milk during processing into milk powder products and the .beta.-lactoglobulin phenotype of the cow whose milk is being processed. Milk from .beta.-lactoglobulin BB phenotype cows has a much lower fouling rate than that from .beta.-lactoglobulin AA phenotype cows. The invention consists in a method comprising testing milk from identified cows for the presence of non-fouling .beta.-lactoglobulin variants and recovering and maintaining that milk separate from the fouling variant containing milk. The non-fouling variant or blends of at least 30% by weight of the non-fouling variant are further processed into milk powder products. The invention also consists in a method of selecting a diary herd having only .beta.-lactoglobulin non-fouling variant phenotype cows.

  • Patent number: 5711836
Abstract: A method of making an object wherein known sheets having a curable prim receiving coating (epoxy and polyamide particles) on one surface and pressure-sensitive adhesive on the other surface (normally used for attaching the printed and cured sheet to a wall or other surface) are wrapped around the object to be marked and the overlapping ends of the sheet are temporarily secured by an overlap bond between the pressure-sensitive adhesive and the curable coating. Subsequent curing of the coating fixes the indicia printed thereon and cures the bond to fix the sheet in position. Preferably, the pressure-sensitive adhesive (e.g. acrylic polymer will interact with the curable coating on curing.
