Publication number: 20230200944Abstract: A system for repositioning teeth a patient from an initial tooth arrangement to a final tooth arrangement includes a plurality of incremental position adjustment appliances, each having an arrangement of cavities shaped to receive and reposition teeth of the patient. The cavities in at least one appliance in the system have a different geometry than that of at least one other appliance in the system. At least some of the appliances in the system are successively worn by the patient to exert force on at least one tooth and move the teeth of the patient from a first arrangement to a successive arrangement different from the first arrangement. The system includes a first multilayer shell with a bending stiffness factor less than about 0.1 GPa*mm3 and an elastic modulus no greater than about 1.5 GPa; and a second shell with a bending stiffness factor greater than 0.1 GPa*mm3.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2021Publication date: June 29, 2023Inventors: Ta-Hua Yu, Jennifer L. Patent number: 8438624Abstract: A method for modifying one or more system resources is provided. One or more licenses for modifying one or more system resources on a client device can be acquired. An authenticator can be generated and stored on a remote server. The authenticator can be transferred to the client device. The client device can be connected to the remote server and the remote server can authenticate the client device via the authenticator. The remote server can confirm the availability of one or more licenses, and based on the availability of one or more licenses, modify one or more system resources disposed in, on, or about the client device. After modifying the one or more system resources the remote server can decrement the remaining license count.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2009Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Paul J Broyles, Bernard D Desselle

Patent number: 7599889Abstract: An “ownership tag” in a special area of memory of a computer system identifies an owner of the computer system by displaying the ownership tag during initialization of the computer system. The ownership tag may be presented during the installation and execution of the Basic Input Output System. (BIOS) preferably during Power on Self Test (POST) process. An administrator may access the ownership tag by interrupting the process by pressing the an appropriate key, which transitions the computer to an administrator set up mode. An administrator able to enter the administrator password may then alter the contents of the protected memory, changing the ownership tag. The ownership tag is preferably stored in a region of memory not accessible to a typical user, but accessible to an administrator aware of the administrator password. The ownership tag is stored in a flash memory, which is very difficult to remove from the system board, or to modify without administrator-level security access.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2004Date of Patent: October 6, 2009Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Paul J. Broyles, III, Rahul G. Patel, Mark A. Piwonka
