Abstract: The invention relates to the encoding of visual data captured by two or more cameras in a layered depth format. The invention proposes a method and device for layered s depth image encoding. The device is adapted for encoding at least one occlusion layer of the layered depth image with a greater horizontal width than a foreground layer of the layered depth image. The method comprises a corresponding step. Further, a non-transitory storage medium carrying at least one encoded layered depth image is proposed. The additional horizontal width can be used for conveying the part of information which is provided in the images/videos captured by the at least two cameras but not comprised in the foreground layer.

Abstract: The process for coding a mosaic of images giving a stream of coded data the mosaic being composed of subimages, the subimages being composed of image elements, resynchronization markers in the stream allowing resynchronization of the data at reception level, wherein the subimages are placed under one another in the image to be coded so as to give a mosaic, the mosaic is coded element by element according to a TV-type scan so as to provide data of the stream, the first element of each subimage being identified, and a resynchronization marker is placed in the stream, before each first element of a subimage, so as to identify the data relating to the subimage.

Abstract: A method for adapting 3D video content to a display under different viewing conditions is disclosed. The method has the steps of: retrieving a stereoscopic image pair; obtaining a maximum disparity value for the stereoscopic image pair; determining a largest allowable shift for the stereoscopic image pair using the obtained maximum disparity value; calculating an actual shift for a left image and a right image of the stereoscopic image pair using the determined largest allowable shift; and shifting the left image and the right image in accordance with the calculated actual shift.

Abstract: A method is disclosed that allows a content provider to transmit font information to a receiver, and that further allows a receiver terminal to receive and apply such information, thus giving improved possibilities for the content provider to define how to render the transmitted text or symbols on a display. Abstract: A device for transmitting data to a plurality of client devices transmits the data according to a plurality of predetermined profiles. Each of the plurality of client devices is associated with at least one profile.
