  • Publication number: 20210233318
Abstract: Neutral avatars are neutral with reference physical characteristics of the corresponding user, such as weight, ethnicity, gender, or even identity. Thus, neutral avatars may be desirable to use in various copresence environments where the user desires to maintain privacy with reference to the above-noted characteristics. Neutral avatars may be configured to convey, in real-time, actions and behaviors of the corresponding user without using literal forms of the user's actions and behaviors.

  • Publication number: 20210209154
Abstract: An electronic device associated with a media-providing service receives a first media item, including information indicating: a first insertion time within the first media item and a second media item to be played at the first insertion time. The electronic device stores the first media item, including information indicating the first insertion time and information indicating the second media item. In response to receiving a request from a second electronic device to initiate playback of a first media item the electronic device provides the first media item to the second electronic device, including queuing the second electronic device to playback, in sequence and without pausing and without user intervention: the first media item until the first insertion time, the second media item at the first insertion time, and the first media item beginning at the first insertion time after playback of the second media item is ceased.

  • Patent number: 11048634
Abstract: Techniques are described in which a system having multiple processing units processes a series of work units in a processing pipeline, where some or all of the work units access or manipulate data stored in non-coherent memory. In one example, this disclosure describes a method that includes identifying, prior to completing processing of a first work unit with a processing unit of a processor having multiple processing units, a second work unit that is expected to be processed by the processing unit after the first work unit. The method also includes processing the first work unit, and prefetching, from non-coherent memory, data associated with the second work unit into a second cache segment of the buffer cache, wherein prefetching the data associated with the second work unit occurs concurrently with at least a portion of the processing of the first work unit by the processing unit.

  • Patent number: 11046178
Abstract: Proposed is a vehicle safety and electricity generating system which includes a wheel rim; an axle shaft connected with the wheel rim; and a first generator. To prevent rollover and to recharge electricity to batteries as quickly as possible, the vehicle can have an extended body and two more attached wheels, and the system can be installed thereto. The system especially provides a rectifier for boosting 600-690 volt AC to 840-966 DC that is enough to charge electric vehicles for example, GM, Rivian® motor that requires 800-900 volt DC for a quick charger. Therefore, there is no need outside high voltage connections. Further, to reduce a generator's size and weigh about by 50% and increase conductivity, the generator has wires selected from one of a super conducting wire, a carbon CNT wire, graphene cooper composited wire or graphene film wire instead of conventional heavy weight cooper wires.

  • Patent number: 10878796
Abstract: A system and method for remote active noise correction at a remote device includes receiving, at the remote device, an ambient noise signal from a microphone. The remote device is disposed along a processing and transmission path between the microphone and a headphone. The processing and transmission path exhibit non-zero latency. The remote device further analyzes the ambient noise signal to generate an anti-noise signal, performs a first correction of the anti-noise signal for a headphone interface effect, performs a second correction of the anti-noise signal for the non-zero latency of the processing and transmission path between the microphone and the headphone. The remote device then transmits the corrected anti-noise signal to the headphone.

  • Publication number: 20200180018
Abstract: Provided is a system and method for metering an amount of molten amorphous alloy into a mold cavity of an injection system. A melting chamber in the system is heated to or above a solidus temperature of the alloy to form a hot chamber. Both the chamber and mold are maintained in an inert atmosphere. The molten alloy is metered from the chamber using a valve system and injected into the mold cavity for molding into a part. A feed tube may extend from the hot chamber to the valve system. The valve system may use gravity or pressure from a pump to meter a volume of molten alloy. In another case, the valve system may include a plunger and a shot sleeve for injecting alloy into the mold. In one embodiment, the plunger itself meters a volume of the alloy. The shot sleeve and plunger may optionally be heated.

  • Patent number: 10659254
Abstract: A highly-programmable access node is described that can be configured and optimized to perform input and output (I/O) tasks, such as storage and retrieval of data to and from storage devices (such as solid state drives), networking, data processing, and the like. For example, the access node may be configured to execute a large number of data I/O processing tasks relative to a number of instructions that are processed. The access node may be highly programmable such that the access node may expose hardware primitives for selecting and programmatically configuring data processing operations. As one example, the access node may be used to provide high-speed connectivity and I/O operations between and on behalf of computing devices and storage components of a network, such as for providing interconnectivity between those devices and a switch fabric of a data center.
