  • Publication number: 20110079366
Abstract: Described herein, in a preferred embodiment, is a leonardite-based polyurethane resin binder that may be used, among other applications, as a binder in combination with foundry aggregate, e.g., sand, for molding or casting metal parts. The binders described herein comprise a humic substance, preferably leonardite, first mixed with a foundry aggregate and then the humic-aggregate mixture is combined with a polymerizable polyol, an isocyanate, and a polymerization catalyst to make a polyurethane resin binder in situ in a foundry aggregate, such as sand. The lignite is added as a solid to the foundry aggregate, and improves the binder performance of the lignite-containing part of the binder components.

  • Publication number: 20070168996
Abstract: Various embodiments of a computer-implemented method, system and computer program product monitor the performance of a program component executing in a virtual machine. Breakpoints associated with position indicators within the program component are set. In response to reaching one of the breakpoints, an amount of time consumed between the breakpoint and a previous breakpoint is determined. The amount of time associated with the position indicators is accumulated. The amount of time is associated with a position indicator that is associated with the previous breakpoint.

  • Publication number: 20070140306
Abstract: Various embodiments of a computer-implemented method, system and computer program product identify jitter in a multimedia datastream comprising packets which are sent from a web server in a web server computer to a client computer. An agent in the web server computer computes packet intervals associated with the packets which are sent from the web server. The agent determines whether jitter is occurring at the client computer receiving the packets based on the packet intervals. In some embodiments, a jitter rate is determined based on the packet intervals.

  • Publication number: 20070118666
Abstract: Transmitting streaming media data in overlapping bursts can reduce data loss when transmitting over radio frequencies to a roving digital receiver. A digital transmitter transmits streaming media information in bursts, where each burst of data preferably contains several seconds of streaming media information. The streaming media information to be transmitted is grouped into transmission bursts, or packets, each transmission burst containing several units of media content, or content units. A content unit is an amount of content that is stored and played by a digital receiver. Each burst contains a certain amount of information, such as a certain number of content units, which are the same as some of those sent in the previous burst. Each burst also contains new content units, i.e. content units that have not previously been transmitted.

  • Publication number: 20070106692
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for replaying sessions is presented. Stored page metadata, corresponding to a previous client session, is obtained. One or more of the inputs referenced in the stored page metadata is disabled, resulting in a first replay representation. One or more stored client transactions corresponding to the stored page metadata is also retrieved. The first replay representation is modified based upon the stored client transactions, resulting in a second replay representation. The first and second replay representations are rendered, using a browser.

  • Publication number: 20060235961
Abstract: A computer-based system and method utilizing a single response time monitor, located on a non-origin node of a public or private network, for measuring the total roundtrip response time of a set of requests resulting from an original request having embedded HTML frames. The response time monitor builds a relationship tree for the original request and its embedded HTML frames. For each request from the set of request resulting from the original request, including requests for the embedded HTML frames, the method uses the response time monitor to detect a start time and end time of each component of the request's roundtrip response time in order to calculate each component's duration. Later, the response time monitor calculates the total roundtrip response time by adding together the duration of all components of the original request and all its additional requests that have the same network address and port number.

Abstract: A computer-based system and method for measuring the roundtrip response time of a set of requests resulting from an original request on a public or private network, utilizing a single response time monitor located on a non-origin node. The method starts the response time monitor on the non-origin node to detect a start time and end time of each component of the roundtrip response time of the original and each additional request from the set in order to calculate each component's duration. • Publication number: 20060212569
Abstract: Dynamic discovery and reporting of one or more application program topologies in a single or networked distributed computing environment allows IT professionals to maintain processes running on the network. In one embodiment, the dynamic discovery is performed by identifying one or more computers in a computer network, identifying one or more processes on each identified computer that are communicating over the network, and displaying a graphical representation of the topology of the processes communicating over the network.

  • Publication number: 20060195687
Abstract: A computer-based system and method of mapping an encrypted network request packet to its decrypted copy in a secure computer network web server. Method creates a plug-in module on a secure web server and saves at least one network address and port number from a captured encrypted network request packet. Plug-in module obtains a decrypted copy of the network request packet from the secure web server decryption module and returns it with the network address and port number.

  • Patent number: 6146613
Abstract: A method is provided for zeolite synthesis from a synthesis medium containing in particular a trivalent aluminum source, a tetravalent silicon source, at least an alkaline or alkaline-earth cation in hydroxide form and water in a reactor containing a solid helical moving body in a guiding tube defining an internal space and a space external to the tube. The invention is characterized in that the synthesis medium is circulated in the reactor in a continuous flow passing through the internal space then the space external to the tube and returning to the internal space, only driven by the roation of the solid helical moving body, at a speed of less than 500 rpm, in the tube which is kept fixed, the synthesis medium being kept at a temperature suitable for at least one of the ripening operations or the crystal growth of the synthesized zeolite. The invention also is directed to a device for implementing the method.

  • Patent number: 5794386
Abstract: A roof panel for sloped roofs includes a self-supporting reinforced plate concrete-like materials, wherein the reinforcement above the plate has bars running along the slope of the roof. In the vicinity of these bars, attaching elements are arranged which bear the roofing material. In order to protect these reinforcement elements from the influence of the weather, they are embedded into concrete ribs, whereby these concrete ribs undertake the function of holding the attaching elements for the roof covering.

  • Patent number: 5754856
Abstract: An asynchronous transport mechanism is provided for use between two or more MVS/ESA tasks on the same or different platforms using the IBM XCF facility, a global directory and a message queuing if tasks are not currently waiting for the messages arrival.A message sending task specifies a named task, which is the name of a group comprised of one or more interested message receiving tasks, that can have access to the message. The sending task is not aware of the number of receiving tasks and is only responsible for registering with a global directory and sending a single message. The message receiving task is not aware of the number of sending tasks and is only responsible for registering with a global directory and receiving a message. Two messaging options are provided to allow the task to emulate two popular types of functions. The first option allows messages to be mirrored to two or more tasks for reliability.

  • Patent number: 5569444
Abstract: A process of preparing a powder of metal hydroxides based on nickel hydroxide for an electrode of an electrochemical cell having an alkaline electrolyte. The process includes introducing a solution of salts of nickel and of cobalt and of cadmium and/or zinc into a reactor in a slow and continuous manner under good stirring conditions, together with a strong base and an ammonium salt. Proportions of the ingredients are determined so that the pH of the mixture is stabilized at a value of 9.2.+-.0.1, and the temperature is maintained between 80.degree. C. and 85.degree. C. Particles metal hydroxide precipitated from the reaction are filtered, washed, and dried.

  • Patent number: 5504898
Abstract: An AS/400 computer is provided with a threaded environment by using thread related batch jobs to accept thread tasks and individually apply them to specialized batch jobs that perform the tasks. Return data is applied by the thread related batch jobs to a common queue and the using application is caused to wait on the common queue, thereby overcoming the AS/400 limitation that an application can only wait on one queue at a time. The thread tasks are thereby performed asynchronously while the user application effectively waits on all such thread tasks by waiting on the common queue. The threaded environment maintains a pool of active thread related batch jobs and permits the cloning of new thread related batch jobs from existing thread related batch jobs to efficiently manage the thread pool.
