  • Publication number: 20130120224
Abstract: The technology provides embodiments for recalibration of outward facing cameras supported by a see-through, head mounted, mixed reality display system having a flexible portion between see-through displays for the eyes. Each outward facing camera has a fixed spatial relationship with a respective or corresponding see-through display positioned to be seen through by a respective eye. For front facing cameras, the fixed spatial relationship allows a predetermined mapping between positions on an image sensor of each camera and positions on the respective display. The mapping may be used to register a position of a virtual object to a position of a real object. A change in a first flexible spatial relationship between the outward facing cameras can be automatically detected. A second spatial relationship between the cameras is determined. A registration of a virtual object to a real object may be updated based on the second spatial relationship.

  • Patent number: 8441791
Abstract: In embodiments of double hinge radial cams, a portable device includes a first housing integrated with a display device, and a second housing movably coupled to the first housing. The first housing is operable to open and close relative to the second housing, and the first and second housings can be rotated from a closed position at approximately zero degrees (0°) to an open position at approximately one-hundred and eighty degrees (180°). A double hinge is operable to movably couple the first housing and the second housing. The double hinge includes radial cams that apply a holding torque in the open position that resists the first and second housings closing.

  • Publication number: 20130058063
Abstract: In embodiments of an expandable mobile device, the device includes first and second housing parts that slide-engage relative to each other to extend and retract the device. The expandable mobile device includes a flexible display that extends from an interior of the expandable mobile device as the second housing part slides out from the first housing part. The flexible display also retracts into the interior of the expandable mobile device as the second housing part slides into the first housing part. Rollers are integrated in the first housing part and bend the flexible display around a fixed radius to position a first section of the flexible display approximately parallel to a second section of the flexible display in a retracted position of the expandable mobile device.

  • Patent number: 6111207
Abstract: A multi-configurable office machine, which includes a control panel subassembly having a plurality of user-activated key-switches for controlling functions of the office machine. A first control panel cover is adapted for installation on the control panel subassembly, the first cover comprising a first cover structure providing user access to a first set of the key-switches when the first cover is installed on the control panel subassembly. A second control panel cover is adapted for installation on the control panel subassembly, the second cover comprising a second cover structure providing user access to a second set of the key-switches when the second cover is installed on the control panel subassembly. By installing a selected one of the panel covers, different groups of the key-switches are accessible to the user, thereby configuring the machine to a first configuration or a second configuration.

  • Patent number: 5387134
Abstract: An electrical connector system includes first and second electrical connectors mateable in a given general direction (A). Each connector includes a housing having a mating end and at least a pair of terminals mounted on the housing. The pair of terminals of each connector have contact portions engageable with the contact portions of the pair of terminals of the other connector. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are at angles to the mating direction to define a generally V-shaped engaging configuration. The contact portions of the terminals of at least one of the connectors are resilient. Therefore, wiping engagement between the respective terminals is effected during mating of the connectors, and the resilient contact portions are effective to store energy upon mating of the connectors, which energy is effective to assist in unmating of the connectors.
