  • Patent number: 8880698
Abstract: In a peer-to-peer network of peers which are interconnected for sharing content data, the peers store content files of content data in a file structure comprising a plurality of content folders each content folder containing any number of content files of related content data, and a description file containing both unique identification information and descriptive information in XML format describing the content file or files stored in the same content folder. Requesting peers transmit search query messages which specify search criteria for passage through the network. Peers receiving a search query message compare the search criteria with the descriptive information contained in the description files in each of their plurality of content folders and in the event of there being a matching content folder transmit a hit message including the identification information to identify the matching content folder for passage back through the network to the respective requesting peer.

  • Publication number: 20130277386
Abstract: A material dispenser includes a base, a platen, a spring, a casing, a material pick-up mechanism, and a cap. The spring is connected in between the platen and the base, and the casing encloses the spring and the platen and removably attaches with the base. The material pick-up mechanism is rotatably connected with the casing opposite from the base. The cap attaches with the casing opposite from the base and positions adjacent with the material pick-up mechanism. The material dispenser includes stored materials in between the platen and the material pick-up mechanism. The casing provides a parameter wall for the stored materials. The users of the material dispenser can dispense an exact amount of the stored materials through a top opening of the casing by rotating the material pick-up mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20110092287
Abstract: A multi-participant gaming feature and system is disclosed wherein a player/participant can alter their perception of fellow players/participants, allies and opponents, in accord with a custom menu of identification traits attributable to the tagged player by the tagging player. The altered perception indicator may be as simple as a target always associated with the tagged player, but may also include audio cues, specialized view-thru instruments, changes in heart rate, pre-determined responses to certain actions, flashback viewing of past interaction with that player, behavior modification, and physical characteristic alterations. Such perception alteration features enable participants to make a gaming experience unique to any desired extent relating to their perception of other participants. Defensive modes for such tagging may also be employed to assist those that may have been tagged to comprehend the tagging of themselves and to adjust their game participation accordingly.

  • Patent number: 7720028
Abstract: In the field of monitoring communications systems, it is necessary for a monitoring system to be aware of an association of a Mobile Country Code (MCC), a Mobile Network Code (MNC) and an IP Address of a Gateway GPRS Support Node (GGSN) of a first network when a mobile terminal is roaming into a second network. Probes monitoring links with the second network generate transaction data. The transaction data is generated from messages communicated as part of a dialogue to establish a data “tunnel” between a Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) of the second network and the GGSN of the first network. The MCC, MNC and IP address data are extracted from the transaction data and used to update an address network name table.

  • Publication number: 20080318105
Abstract: A fuel cell assembly comprising a fuel cell incorporated in a composite laminate structure, the composite laminate structure comprising a core material within which the fuel cell is embedded. The fuel cell comprises an electrolytic membrane having first and second faces, and first and second electrodes disposed adjacent to the respective faces of the electrolytic membrane. The first and second electrodes are connectable to an electric circuit. The core material provides support to the fuel cell embedded therein and fluid communication through the core material, to enable the passage of one or more fluids to the first and second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 7237259
Abstract: Disclosed are two mechanisms for preventing access failures attributable to dynamic port assignment of firewall-blocked ports. The mechanism involves an enhanced firewall that opens blocked ports prior to possible dynamic allocation so that the blocked ports are not available when a port is requested. The second mechanism involves an enhanced commutations stack that works in conjunction with an enhanced firewall to reserve blocked ports so that the blocked ports are not available for dynamic allocation when a port is requested.

  • Publication number: 20030139946
Abstract: Diagnostic information relating to anxiety disorders is obtained by a method comprising the steps of (1) asking subjects questions relating to anxiety disorder symptoms; (2) receiving answers to the questions; (3) generating an original final report; (4) summarizing in the final report endorsed anxiety disorder symptoms; (5) indicating in the final report unendorsed anxiety disorder symptoms. Data relating to anxiety disorders is collected by keeping statistics on the answers given by the subjects and making the statistics available to researchers. Researchers are then provided access to the data from the population of subjects to conduct research on anxiety disorders. Also, the data collected is assessed to determine whether the questioning process should be modified in response to the data, so as to provide better information for researchers to use in their research.

  • Patent number: 5733754
Abstract: An enzyme is provided which has acylase activity capable of hydrolyzing N-acetyl-(R,S)-pipecolic acid stereoselectively to give (S)-pipecolic acid, wherein this activity is greater than that on N-acetyl-S-proline, at pH 7.5, 25.degree. C., and substrate concentration 20 g/l, in 75 mM Tris buffer. The enzyme is obtainable from the species of Alcaligenes denitrificans deposited as NCIMB 40587. A microorganism having therein the enzyme also is provided, as is a process for preparing (S)-pipecolic acid comprising contacting a mixture of enantiomers of an N-acyl-pipe colic acid with the enzyme or microorganism.
