Abstract: The present invention relates to a personal care composition that contains a rinse-off composition which deposits at least 0.5 ?g/cm2 of shiny particles on the skin. Preferably, the shiny particles are hydrophobically modified interference pigments. The inventors have found that hydrophobically modifying the particles significantly improves the deposition of the particles on skin from rinsable compositions.

Abstract: Personal care compositions for use in an absorbent article are disclosed comprising an isosorbide diester having the formula: wherein R? and R? are independently selected from a straight or branched C1-30 chain, which may be saturated or unsaturated. The personal care compositions also comprise a solid cosmetic active soluble in the isosorbide diester and a dermatologically acceptable carrier. The personal care composition may be in the form of an emulsion. A personal care composition is also disclosed comprising an isosorbide diester having the formula: wherein R? and R? are independently selected from a straight or branched C1-30 chain which may be saturated or unsaturated and Z1-Z6 are independently selected from hydrogen, hydroxyl, amino, amido, R?, or R?. Methods of making the aforementioned personal care compositions are also disclosed.

Abstract: A skin care composition having from about 0.01% to about 5%, by weight, of an superabsorbent polymer which is a sodium polyacrylate, sodium polacrylate starch, sodium acrylates crosspolymer-2 or mixtures of these and a portion of the polymer comprises a grafted starch material. The superabsorbent polymer is particulate where the particles have an average particle size in the range of from about 5?-30?, and the individual particles in their dry or un-swollen condition are substantially non-spherical, flat, platelet, or elongated in shape. The particles have an absorption capacity of at least about 1000 times their initial dry or un-swollen volume. Additionally, the skin care composition contains from about 0.01-10% of a dry powder that is either starch or silicone based and wherein the dry powder is coated with a silicone based material. The ratio of liquid UV active to silicone elastomer in the UV composite may vary from 1:1 to 8:1. The liquid UV active include solubilized solid UV actives. Further described herein is a SPF enhancing UV composite for addition to a sunscreen composition. Methods of making the aforementioned sunscreen composition and SPF enhancing UV composite are described herein.

The housing contains a battery, a cordless motor and a gear box to provide an appropriate rotational velocity to the output shaft that is coupled to the applicator. The applicator may be a foam material selected to cushion the skin from excessive abrasion to the particles in a personal care composition to be used with device, and to have a porosity that will enable the foam to interact with the particles and enhance the skin polishing effect.
