Abstract: The present invention relates to a skin care composition comprising at least two oil phases dispersed in a continuous aqueous phase comprising a thickening agent, wherein a first oil phase of the oil phases has different composition from the other oil phase, and wherein the composition contains an emulsifier no more than 1.0%. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing a skin care composition comprising dispersing a first oil phase in a continuous aqueous phase comprising a thickening agent; and dispersing a second oil phase in the continuous aqueous phase; wherein composition of said first oil phase differs from composition of said second oil phase, and wherein the composition contains an emulsifier no more than 1.0%.

Abstract: A personal care kit comprises a first series of unit-dose packages containing a first skin care composition and a second series of unit-doses packages containing a second skin care composition, wherein the first skin care composition and the second skin care composition exhibit a readily perceptible difference. The readily perceptible difference may be a visible difference, a tactile difference, or an olfactory difference. The first and/or second skin care composition may comprise a skin care active. A method for using the personal care kit is also disclosed.

Abstract: A personal care composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion is disclosed that provides improves skin feel. The personal care composition comprises from a silicone elastomer; a silicone fluid; a particulate material having a refractive index of less than about 1.8; a polymeric thickener; and water. The personal care composition may be substantially devoid of opacifying particulate material. A consumer product comprising the personal care composition is also disclosed. The consumer product allows for the application of the personal care composition to the skin or other keratinous tissue.

Abstract: A method to provide a skin composition comprising at least one salt-form active which is aesthetically pleasing and effective. The method has the steps of providing a first container for a first aqueous phase having at least one salt-sensitive thickener; a second container for a second aqueous phase having at least one salt-form active; and dispensing the first and second phases from their respective containers onto a common surface. The first and second phases are then blended together and applied to the area of the skin in need of treatment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions suitable for use as sunscreens which comprise a UVA sunscreen active and a carrier suitable for application to the skin. These compositions are substantially free of benzylidene camphor derivatives and provide excellent stability, efficiency, and UV protection efficacy in a safe, economical and aesthetically appealing manner. The compositions have a Sunscreen Efficiency Index of at least about 1.75, a UVA Efficacy Value of at least about 0.5, a UVA Photostability Index of at least about 0.85, a UVB Photostability Index of at least about 0.85, and a Transparency Value of less than about 10. Methods of using the compositions are also disclosed.
