  • Publication number: 20220303833
Abstract: A method for indicating and operating multiple User Equipment (UEs) in a wireless device is provided. In embodiments disclosed herein, the wireless device can recognize that there exist multiple UEs in the wireless device and determine a relation between the multiple UEs in the wireless device. Accordingly, the wireless device can provide an indication to a network node (e.g., a base station) to indicate the determined relation between the multiple UEs. The network node, one the other hand, can cause the wireless device to perform one or more actions (e.g., paging, handover, etc.) based on the indicated relation between the multiple UEs in the wireless device. By being able to determine and indicate the multiple UEs in the wireless device and perform network operations accordingly, it is possible to enhance convenience, flexibility, mobility, and basic economics of the wireless device, thus helping to improve subscriber experience.

  • Patent number: 11399358
Abstract: A radio network node (12) in a radio access network (RAN1) and a method therein for Paging Policy Differentiation (PPD). The radio network node receives from a core network (CN1) a Downlink (DL) Protocol Data Unit (PDU) associated with a wireless device (10). The DL PDU is comprised in a Quality of Service (QoS)-flow, is originated from a respective service and comprises a Paging Policy Indicator (PPI) associated with the respective service. The radio network node extracts the PPI by means of a Central Unit User Plane (CU-UP) (12b). By means of the CU-UP (12b), the radio network node informs a Central Unit Control Plane (CU-CP) (12a) about the PPI. Further, by means of the CU-CP, the radio network node triggers paging of the wireless device. Furthermore, the radio network node pages the wireless device (10) according to the PPI associated with the respective service.

  • Patent number: 11395157
Abstract: According to an aspect, a network node operating in a first RAN according to a first RAT is the target of an inter-RAT (IRAT) handover. The network node receives a handover request for a user equipment from a cell in a second RAN operating according to a second RAT. After handover of the user equipment to a cell in the first RAN is completed, the network node configures the user equipment to measure one or more frequencies corresponding to the second RAN. Based on measurements reported by the user equipment for the one or more frequencies, the network node identifies one or more detected cells exceeding a measurement threshold, and sends a handover report towards the second RAN. The handover report includes, for at least one detected cell exceeding the measurement threshold, a physical cell identifier for the detected cell and a frequency identifier for the detected cell.
