  • Publication number: 20220289198
Abstract: Among other things, systems and methods are described for an automated emergency braking system. A deceleration command is obtained from an automated emergency braking (AEB) system of a vehicle. A second deceleration command is obtained responsive to an operational mode of the vehicle. Arbitration is performed between the deceleration command from the AEB system and the second deceleration command based on the operational mode of the vehicle. Braking of the vehicle is initiated using the arbitrated deceleration command.

  • Publication number: 20220287535
Abstract: An evacuation station for collecting debris from a cleaning robot includes a controller configured to execute instructions to perform one or more operations. The one or more operations includes initiating an evacuation operation such that an air mover draws air containing debris from the cleaning robot, through an intake of the evacuation station, and through a canister of the evacuation station and such that a receptacle received by the evacuation station receives at least a portion of the debris drawn from the cleaning robot. The one or more operations includes ceasing the evacuation operation in response to a pressure value being within a range. The pressure value is determined based at least in part on data indicative of an air pressure, and the range is set based at least in part on a number of evacuation operations initiated before the evacuation operation.

  • Publication number: 20210261152
Abstract: A method for operating a vehicle includes detecting a traffic light located at a first spatiotemporal location based on a first digital video stream captured by a first camera and a second digital video stream captured by a second camera. It is determined that the vehicle is located at a second spatiotemporal location by validating first location data received from sensors against second location data obtained by filtering the first location data. It is determined that the traffic light is expected at the first spatiotemporal location based on a semantic map referenced by the second spatiotemporal location. Responsive to determining that the traffic light is expected at the first spatiotemporal location, a traffic signal of the traffic light is detected based on the two digital video streams. A trajectory is determined in accordance with the traffic signal. A control circuit operates the vehicle in accordance with the trajectory.

  • Publication number: 20210197805
Abstract: A safety system for a vehicle includes an object tracker circuit configured to receive sensor data representing objects located in an environment in which the vehicle is operating. The vehicle is operated by a navigation system independent of the safety system. A probabilistic model of the environment is generated. Generating of the probabilistic model includes, for each object of the one or more objects, generating a state of the object based on recursive Bayesian filtering of the sensor data. The state includes a spatiotemporal location of the object relative to the vehicle at a particular time and a velocity of the object relative to the vehicle at the particular time. A probability of collision of the vehicle is determined with a particular object at the particular time based on the probabilistic model of the environment. A collision warning is generated indicating the particular object and the particular time.

  • Publication number: 20200276973
Abstract: Techniques are provided for operation of a vehicle in the event of an emergency. The techniques include receiving, using one or more sensors of a vehicle operating within an environment, sensor data representing an object located within the environment. The sensor data is used to identify whether the object is an emergency vehicle. Responsive to identifying that the object is an emergency vehicle, the sensor data is used to determine whether the emergency vehicle is operating in an emergency mode. Responsive to determining that the emergency vehicle is operating in the emergency mode, instructions representing an emergency operation for the vehicle are transmitted to a control module of the vehicle. The control module of the vehicle operates the vehicle in accordance with the emergency operation.
