  • Publication number: 20190353863
Abstract: A fiber optic cassette includes a body defining a front and an opposite rear. A cable entry location, such as a multi-fiber connector, is defined on the body for a cable to enter the cassette, wherein a plurality of optical fibers from the cable extend into the cassette and form terminations at one or more single or multi-fiber connectors adjacent the front of the body. A flexible substrate is positioned between the cable entry location and the connectors adjacent the front of the body, the flexible substrate rigidly supporting the plurality of optical fibers. Each of the connectors adjacent the front of the body includes a ferrule. Dark fibers can be provided if not all fiber locations are used in the multi-fiber connectors. Multiple flexible substrates can be used with one or more multi-fiber connectors.

  • Patent number: 10346363
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for maintaining a file system is described. A method may include receiving a request for allocating a first block of a file system to a file, the first block comprising a first data from the file. The method also includes computing a first hash value by hashing the first data with a first hashing procedure and computing a second hash value by hashing the first data with a second hashing procedure. The method also includes using the first and the second hash values to determine whether a tree structure among a plurality of tree structures has a matching hash value among a plurality of hash values. Each of the plurality of hash values in the tree structure correspond to a block among a plurality of blocks stored in the file system. The method further includes in response to determining that the tree structure has the matching hash value, allocating the corresponding block to the file and updating a reference count of the corresponding block in the tree structure.

  • Publication number: 20190025515
Abstract: A cable sorting and fusion splicing system (100) and method for arranging a plurality of optical fibers (17) in a cable in a predetermined sequence for fusion splicing to a multi-fiber optical connector (42). The cable sorting device 1 automatically sorts a plurality of optical fibers, such as twelve, loosely contained within a cable jacket (20). The fibers (17) are sorted in a predetermined sequence and maintained in a linear arrangement. The linear arrangement of fibers (17) is utilized at a fusion splicing device (40) to fusion splice to a multi-fiber optical connector having a corresponding sequence of optical fibers which are respectively fusion spliced to the optical fibers (17) of the cable. The fusion splicing device (40) is a mass fusion splicer which splices all of the fibers simultaneously.
