    Abstract: A vaneless ventilation system includes a rigid duct and a vent assembly in fluid communication with the duct. The vent assembly includes a rigid housing defining an outlet, a bendable duct disposed inside the rigid housing, a linkage assembly coupled to the bendable duct to allow deflection of the bendable duct upon movement of the linkage assembly, and an actuation mechanism coupled to the linkage assembly, wherein actuation of the actuation mechanism causes the linkage assembly to move, thereby deflecting the bendable duct.

    Abstract: A drying system includes an assembly with a housing defining an interior space. The housing has an inner wall with a first opening through which the inner chamber communicates with the outer chamber. The housing has an outer wall with a second opening. A rechargeable desiccant and a door are disposed in the outer chamber, and the door is movable between a first position and a second position. The door at least partially seals the second opening and unseals the first opening when in the first position, and at least partially seals the first opening and unseals the second opening when in the second position. A shape memory alloy actuator moves the door between the first position and the second position in response to a change in temperature of the shape memory alloy.

A shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator is to selectively cause the coupling member to selectively couple the actuating lever to the crank lever. The SMA actuator is electrically actuated.     Abstract: A knitted structure is configured for heat generation and distribution. In some embodiments, the knitted structure includes a knitted fabric including a first knitted layer and a second knitted layer opposite the first knitted layer. The first knitted layer has a first thermal conductivity. The second knitted layer has a second thermal conductivity. The second thermal conductivity is greater than the first thermal conductivity to faciliate heat transfer toward the first knitted layer. The knitted structure may further include a plurality of electrodes at least partially disposed inside the knitted fabric. Each of the plurality of electrodes is configured to generate heat within the knitted fabric upon receipt of electrical energy in order to distribute heat along the knitted structure and toward the first knitted layer.

The knitted structure is configured to transition from an unexpanded state to an expanded state in response to the inflation of the hollow yarns through the yarn hole. The inner surface is opposite the outer surface. The vehicle seat further includes a knitted spacer fabric interconnecting the first knitted fabric layer and the second knitted fabric layer. The knitted spacer fabric resiliently biases the first knitted fabric layer and the second knitted fabric layer away from one another. The knitted spacer fabric is configured to buckle when a seated occupant exerts an occupant load on the vehicle seat. The first knitted fabric layer is more elastic than the second knitted fabric layer to conform to the seated occupant when the seated occupant exerts the occupant load on the vehicle seat.

The first electrical excitation pad is configured for receiving the electrical signal and electrically stimulating the skin of the user through the textile material to thereby mitigate motion sickness.

The casing can be fluidly sealed and includes an interior compartment containing a fluid. The fluid can shift between a first interior pressure and a second interior pressure less than the first interior pressure and an exterior pressure. The first and second friction layers are disposed within the interior compartment. The assembly can shift between relaxed and fixed configurations. In the relaxed configuration, the fluid has the first interior pressure, the casing is stretchable between a first dimension and a second dimension greater than the first dimension, and the assembly has a first stiffness. In the fixed configuration, the first fluid has the second interior pressure, the casing length is fixed, the first and second friction layers are engaged, and the assembly has a second stiffness greater than the first stiffness.
