    Abstract: A method includes receiving a first higher-layer signal from a base station, wherein the first higher-layer signal enables the use of single PDCCH scheduling PDSCH(s) in two or more serving cells; receiving a second higher-layer signal from the base station, wherein the second higher-layer signal enables the use of cross-carrier HARQ management within the serving cells; receiving DCI in one of the serving cells to obtain the scheduling information of PDSCH(s) in the serving cells; receiving the scheduled PDSCH(s) in the serving cells based on the received DCI to obtain downlink transport blocks carried in the scheduled PDSCH(s); and sending downlink transport blocks to a HARQ entity of the serving cell indicated in the DCI carried in a PDCCH for HARQ management based on a HARQ process number indicated in the DCI carried in the PDCCH.

    Abstract: A new design for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) is proposed for the next generation 5G new radio systems. A UE receives the configuration of a default control resource set (CORESET) in MIB/SIB from its serving base station. The default CORESET contains both common search space and UE-specific search space for candidate PDCCH transmission. A PDCCH in a default CORESET is mapped to physical resource in a distributed or localized manner. Specifically, various REG-to-CCE mapping rules are proposed to improve frequency diversity gain, or frequency selectivity gain, or to reduce latency of PDCCH processing. Further, to facilitate analog beamforming in mmWave systems, the default CORESET is transmitted in a synchronization signal (SS) block associated with a corresponding analog beam direction.

    Abstract: A method of supporting active bandwidth part (BWP) switching under carrier aggregation (CA) is proposed. To avoid longer switching delay and multiple interruptions in other component carriers (CCs)/cells, the starting time of the later active BWP switching in one cell should fall outside the switching delay of the earlier active BWP switching in another cell. If the later active BWP switching is DCI-based, then the network should schedule the later active BWP switching outside the switching delay of the earlier active BWP switching. If the later active BWP switching is timer-based, then the UE should not perform the later active BWP switching until the earlier active BWP switching is completed.

The BWP definition is extended to cluster BWPs to aggregate distributed spectrum blocks within a frequency range (e.g., 200 MHz) by single carrier operation and facilitate UE to filter out the transmission of unknown RAT between any two of the distributed spectrum blocks. In addition, the cluster BWP configuration enables dynamic aggregation of the number and location of the distributed spectrum blocks based on LBT results in unlicensed spectrum. Specifically, the BWP definition is extended to a group of one or multiple radio resource clusters, each of which contains a set of contiguous PRBs in frequency domain within the associated carrier.

In one novel aspect, virtual carrier (VC) with a block of physically contiguous radio resources within a component carrier is configured. In one embodiment, the UE configures a downlink (DL) common virtual carrier (CVC) and an uplink (UL) CVC, which carry control information for the UE, and one or more DL/UL dedicated VCs (DVCs), which carry data services. In one embodiment, the UE obtains the CVC configuration information including the channel bandwidth and the physical location through system information. In another embodiment, the UE obtains DVC configuration through an RRC-layer signaling. In another novel aspect, the UE obtains a VC configuration switch command through either a MAC signal or a PHY signal, and subsequently reconfigures one or more configured VCs based on the received switch command.

The configuration information indicates an RMSI offset (D) between a timing reference and a slot carrying the RMSI PDCCH monitoring occasion at the beginning of the sequence of the RMSI PDCCH monitoring occasions, and an RMSI interval (T) between two RMSI PDCCH monitoring occasions in the sequence of RMSI PDCCH monitoring occasions. The method further includes determining a timing of a first RMSI PDCCII monitoring occasion in the sequence of RMSI PDCCH monitoring occasion according to the SBI and the configuration information.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for efficient bandwidth adaptation for wideband carrier. In one novel aspect, the UE starts a BWP timer upon detecting one or more BWP timer starting triggering events, resets the BWP timer upon detecting BWP resetting triggering events, and switches to the default BWP upon expiration of the BWP timer. The BWP timer starting triggering events comprises decoding a command to switch away from the default BWP, the detection of end of DL data transmission in DRX mode. In another novel aspect, the UE only decodes the DCI indication for active BWP switching in the first three OFDM symbols of a subframe or a slot. In yet another novel aspect, when the SPS is configured for the serving cell for a UE with multiple BWPs, the SPS is configured for all the BWPs accordingly.
