Abstract: PRD (Physical Region Descriptor) pre-fetch methods for DMA (Direct Memory Access) unit are provided. When a DMA out transaction for a memory is performed, it is determined whether a first queue is full or nearly full, wherein the first queue is used to store data corresponding to the DMA out transaction. If the first queue is full or nearly full, at least one PRD entry is read from a first PRD table, and stored to a first cache. When a DMA in transaction for the memory is performed, it is determined whether a second queue is empty or nearly empty, wherein the second queue is used to store data corresponding to the DMA in transaction. If the second queue is empty or nearly empty, at least one PRD entry is read from a second PRD table, and stored to a second cache.

Abstract: A novel method is disclosed for embedding hidden information in a document comprising characters, including: determining hidden information to be embedded in each class of layout transformation respectively; acquiring a code sequence for each class of layout transformation by coding the hidden information to be embedded in the class of layout transformation; performing layout transformation on characters from the document according to the acquired code sequence for each class of layout transformation respectively.

Abstract: A transducer array comprises a conductive back plate 32, a conductive front plate 33 having openings 62, and a plurality of piezoelectric vibrator elements 31 located in an array between the plates. The vibrator elements 31 are two-layer elements which each include a metal portion 311 and a PZT element 312. These elements 311, 312 are in electrical contact with the respective plates. The vibrator elements 31 are attached to support elements 51 upstanding as part of the back plate 32. The transducer array can be formed as a batch process in which the vibrator elements 31 are formed simultaneously, and then simultaneously attached to the support elements 51.

Abstract: A stabilized borane-tetrahydrofuran complex is disclosed. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of the borane-tetrahydrofuran complex and methods of storing and transporting the prepared complex. The borane-tetrahydrofuran complexes exhibit enhanced shelf life and increased self-accelerated decomposition temperatures.

Abstract: A glitch-free clock switching circuit receives a first clock signal and a second clock signal and outputs a third clock signal corresponding to the first clock signal or a fourth clock signal corresponding to the second clock signal according to a clock switching signal. The glitch-free clock switching circuit switches to output clock signals by stopping output of a clock signal, and then waiting for a predetermined period of time before outputting another clock signal.

Abstract: The invention is related to a method for selecting an influenza virus for growth on tissue culture cells to produce a tissue-culture adapted viral isolate. The invention also includes vaccines produced from the isolate.

Abstract: A method for transforming an audio signal and a system employing that method is disclosed. The method proceeds by extracting from the signal components that fall within a stop band, for example, using one or more low-pass filters. Then, a set of one or more harmonics of the extracted components is generated by down-sampling to create an intermediate signal, which is then repeated. Each harmonic is then weighted by controlling its gain by application to it of a respective weighting factor, the factors being determined by the psychoacoustic properties of a system that will reproduce the signal. Then, the weighted harmonics are added to the audio signal (which may have been subject to a delay to ensure synchronisation) to create an output signal.

The ERP system provides an automatic business configuration subsystem. The automatic business configuration subsystem maintains a set of rules. Each of the rules representing a relationship between two business elements maintained at the ERP system. The automatic business configuration subsystem automatically determines which business elements are required and need to be implemented based on the set of rules.

Various systems, methods, and software are described. Some embodiments include determining a scoping question to ask as a function of a response to one or more other scoping questions, wherein possible responses to one or more scoping questions are associated with one or more application configuration packages. Some such embodiments further include selecting one or more application configuration packages for deployment as a function of one or more received scoping question responses.

The audio-visual reproduction apparatus includes a visual display screen and an ultrasonic transducer array having two or more transducer elements arranged around the periphery of the screen for generating an ultrasonic beam modulated with an audio-frequency signal. Non-linear effects in the air demodulate the audio-signal to generate an audio beam propagating perpendicular to the screen. Such an integration of audio and vision may make the user feel as if the sound is being generated from the display screen when he or she is watching it, and also may project the sound towards a target user and seldom, or never, disturb unrelated persons. The ultrasonic transducer array may be made up of independent transducer elements, or may comprise two or more sub-arrays of transducer elements.

Abstract: This invention discloses a method of editing a short message through a fixed platform of a PC being connected to a mobile phone via a cable or wireless (such as infrared) transmission, so that when a user presses the “SEND” button, the short message will go through a string mode coding in PDU format, and then the personal computer will send a command “AT+CMGS” and the string mode code in PDU format to the mobile phone. After the command “AT+CMGS” being received, the short message is sent out according to the address, mobile phone number, and way of sending specified in the string mode code in PDU format to complete the process of sending a short message, enabling a user to utilize the powerful data processing capability of the personal computer to edit the text of the short message conveniently.
