  • Patent number: 9342472
Abstract: PRD (Physical Region Descriptor) pre-fetch methods for DMA (Direct Memory Access) unit are provided. When a DMA out transaction for a memory is performed, it is determined whether a first queue is full or nearly full, wherein the first queue is used to store data corresponding to the DMA out transaction. If the first queue is full or nearly full, at least one PRD entry is read from a first PRD table, and stored to a first cache. When a DMA in transaction for the memory is performed, it is determined whether a second queue is empty or nearly empty, wherein the second queue is used to store data corresponding to the DMA in transaction. If the second queue is empty or nearly empty, at least one PRD entry is read from a second PRD table, and stored to a second cache.

  • Publication number: 20160127746
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to an image or raster compression method for a multi-dimensional array of pixels. A user specifies a maximum error allowable per pixel for the compression algorithm. The raster is divided into a number of pixel blocks where each pixel is quantized and bit stuffed based on a number of block statistics including the maximum error allowable. The size of the pixel blocks is limited to two (e.g., 8×8 and 16×16) to save processing time with little difference in compression. A Look-Up Table (LUT) is used instead for certain types of data where it is more efficient.

  • Patent number: 9330015
Abstract: Large pages that may impede memory performance in computer systems are identified. In operation, mappings to selected large pages are temporarily demoted to mappings to small pages and accesses to these small pages are then tracked. For each selected large page, an activity level is determined based on the tracked accesses to the small pages included in the large page. By strategically selecting relatively low activity large pages for decomposition into small pages and subsequent memory reclamation while restoring the mappings to relatively high activity large pages, memory consumption is improved, while limiting performance impact attributable to using small pages.

  • Patent number: 9209526
Abstract: A broadband dual-polarized omni-directional antenna and a feeding method using the same are provided. By setting a vertically polarized antenna and a horizontally polarized antenna each in co-axial, the horizontally polarized antenna is attached to an upper surface and a lower surface of the attaching plate respectively by two arms of a folded dipole and the two arms connect to an inner conductor and an outer conductor of a feed line so that the dual-polarized antenna may have a comparatively broad bandwidth. At the same time, since the dual-polarized ceiling antenna has a good isolation effect and coverage balance, it may work as the MIMO antenna in the LTE and WLAN systems effectively and may be used in the 2G and 3G networks to improve the data transmission rate.
