  • Publication number: 20210369890
Abstract: An antimicrobial lighting system is used to reduce microbial growth on surfaces in or on air conditioning and/or heating equipment. In some examples, antimicrobial light within one or more antimicrobial wavelength ranges is applied to inactivate one or more microorganisms on target surface(s) within or on a packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC). The antimicrobial light may include light within a first antimicrobial wavelength range and/or light within a second antimicrobial wavelength range. The antimicrobial lighting system may include an array of individually controllable antimicrobial light segments. An array controller may individually control activation of the one or more antimicrobial light segments based on the status information or commands received from a PTAC controller or from an external computing device.

  • Patent number: 11186463
Abstract: Techniques for implementing and/or operating a pipe deployment system that includes pipe deployment equipment, which facilitates deploying a pipe segment from a pipe coil, and a pipe drum, which includes a drum body around which the pipe coil is to be disposed. The pipe drum is to be disposed on the pipe deployment equipment and the drum body includes a drum core as well as a lower paddle assembly and an upper paddle assembly, which are slidably secured to the drum core. The pipe deployment system maintains the paddle assemblies in a retracted state to enable the drum body to be inserted into the pipe coil, extends the lower paddle assembly to a more extended state to facilitate raising the drum core, and retracts the lower paddle assembly to a less extended state and extends the upper paddle assembly to the less extended state to facilitate lifting the pipe coil.

  • Publication number: 20210366880
Abstract: Light emitting diodes are disclosed that utilize multiple conversion materials in the conversion process in order to achieve the desired emission color point. Different embodiments of the present invention can comprise different phosphor types in separate layers on, above or around one or a plurality of LED chips to achieve the desired light conversion. The LEDs can then emit a desired combination of light from the LED chips and conversion material. In some embodiments, conversion materials can be applied as layers of different phosphor types in order of longest emission wavelength phosphor first, followed by shorter emission phosphors in sequence as opposed to applying in a homogeneously mixed phosphor converter. The conversion material layers can be applied as a blanket over the LED chips and the area surrounding the chip, such as the surface of a submount holding the LED chips.

  • Publication number: 20210325089
Abstract: Wellbore synthesis techniques are disclosed suitable for use in geothermal applications. Embodiments are provided where open hole drilled wellbores are sealed while drilling in sequenced operations with utilization of phase change materials to form an impervious layer at the wellbore/formation interface in high temperature applications. The techniques may be chemical, thermal, mechanical, biological and are fully intended to irreversibly damage the formation in terms of the permeability thereof. With the permeability negated, the wellbore may be used to create a closed loop surface to surface geothermal well operable in the absence of well casing for heat transfer surfaces for maximizing thermal transfer to a circulating working fluid. Formulations for the working and drilling fluids are disclosed.
