  • Publication number: 20120285541
Abstract: The manifold of the invention is designed to vent respective high and low pressure sources of fluid pressure from beneath the foils of a pressure transmitter and directing the vented fluid, respectively, through high and low pressure passageways to high and low pressure vents of the manifold. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the manifold has a primary and a secondary vent valve for each of the high and low pressure passageways through the manifold. A method of venting the manifold is also described.

  • Publication number: 20110146798
Abstract: A purge manifold for mounting between a source of pressurized process fluid and an instrumentation manifold is described. The purge manifold includes a manifold body and various passageways therein including a purge fluid inlet, process fluid inlet(s) and test and bypass valves. In the most preferred use of the invention the purge manifold is mounted directly to an instrumentation manifold, winch instrumentation manifold is fluidly coupled directly to a differential pressure transmitter. The purge manifold permits introduction of a purging fluid to evacuate the passageways of the purge manifold and force the process fluid at least towards the taps of the source of process fluid.

  • Patent number: 7562907
Abstract: A method and apparatus are directed to reduce the load from the threads on taps on an orifice plate or orifice fitting. The apparatus includes a tap (3) having an NPT threaded end (1) and a flanged end (12) and an intermediate flange (13) which engages with a stabilizing tube (2) placed around the tap (3). In use, a stabilizing nut (1), previously threaded on the stabilizing tube (2), is unthreaded thereby forcing the stabilizing tube (2) against the intermediate flange (13) and transferring at least some of the weight off the threads (1) of the tap (3).

  • Patent number: 7458614
Abstract: A pressure tap assembly for connection between a pipeline flange and a manifold and/or transmitter in which can transmit the load from a threaded end of the tap to the body of the tap. In one embodiment the tap is provided with a tap body having an integral stabilizing flange. By the use of a force providing device the stabilizing flange is forced in a direction away from the pipeline flange thereby reducing the load on the threads on the threaded end of the tap. A combination of a stabilizing nut and stabilizer base can be used to provide the force.

  • Patent number: 6079443
Abstract: An instrument valve manifold 10, 210 interfaces between a flowline control manifold CM and one or more pressure transmitter units T1, T2. The instrument valve manifold includes a monolithic body 32,232 that defines a mating surface 34,234 having a low pressure port 52, 252 and a high pressure port 54, 254, a low pressure plenum 58, 258 and a high pressure plenum 60,260, and at least one equalizing valve pocket 96, 296 for receiving an equalizing valve 100, 300. Fluid passageways in the body 32, 232 extend from the low pressure input port to the low pressure plenum and from the high pressure input port to the high pressure plenum. The instrument valve manifold reduces the size and weight of components connected to the control manifold, reduces the moment arm of the combined weight of the instrument valve manifold and the transmitter on the control manifold, and distributes the weight substantially equally about the plane of symmetry 30 of the control manifold.

  • Patent number: 6000427
Abstract: A valve manifold for interfacing between a flowline control manifold and first and second pressure sensor units, the manifold having a monolithic body defining a mating surface for mating with the process control manifold and an instrument face for mating with the first and second pressure sensor units, the body having a peripheral wall with a first portion thereof being on the opposite side of the instrument face with respect to the mating face, the first portion of the peripheral wall forming an equalizing valve pocket surface for high and low pressure equalizing valve pockets carrying high and low pressure equalizing valves, respectively. High and low pressure fluid passageways extend from the mating surface to the equalizing valve pockets. The high pressure fluid passageway communicates with a high pressure plenum in the instrument face while the low pressure fluid passageway communicates with a low pressure plenum formed in the instrument face.
