  • Patent number: 8678637
Abstract: An extruder screw includes a screw shaft with several screw elements which can be or have been detachably slipped onto this shaft, the screw shaft having an external gearing and the screw elements having an internal gearing which engage the external gearing. The profile of the teeth of the external and the internal gearing are asymmetric, whereby in relation to a preferred direction of rotation of the extruder screw, the torque-transferring flanks of the teeth of the external and the internal gearing make a smaller angle with the perpendicular to the axis of rotation than do respective opposing flanks, at the teeth, of the external and internal gearing.

  • Publication number: 20130214784
Abstract: A method for operating a coil, through which a varying current flows, is provided. Mechanical resonance responses of the coil are recorded and are modeled by an electrical resonant circuit model. A check is made as to whether a varying current that is to be sent through the coil evokes a resonant response in the electrical resonant circuit model. The current flow through the coil is blocked if the resonant response exceeds a predefined limit value.

  • Publication number: 20130162249
Abstract: The present embodiments relate to a method for reducing mechanical vibrations in a magnetic resonance imaging system that includes a gradient system having a gradient coil body and an electrically conductive shroud that at least partly encloses the gradient coil body. The method includes determining a mechanical natural vibration mode of the gradient coil body in the magnetic resonance imaging system, and determining excitation force components for the natural vibration mode. The method also includes determining electrically conductive areas of the gradient system, which during operation of the magnetic resonance imaging system, generate a Lorentz force component that contributes to the excitation force components. The method further includes modifying the determined electrically conductive areas such that a minimal number of the Lorentz force components coincide with the excitation force components.
