  • Patent number: 7658704
Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for delivery of transcranial magnetic stimulation. The apparatus includes a TMS coil which when energized generates an electric field substantially parallel to a long axis of the coil and substantially normal to a surface of the coil. Furthermore disclosed an apparatus for delivery of TMS in which a coil is adapted to a robotic member for computer-aided control and delivery. Further disclosed are methods of TMS planning and delivery in which subject images are utilized to plan, position and orient the TMS coil for precise delivery. Disclosed also are TMS coils having unique designs to better focus and direct magnetic stimulation.

  • Patent number: 7580799
Abstract: Steric features inherent in the three dimensional disposition of atoms in molecules can be represented as multiplets using a defined set of steric descriptors. The resulting multiplets can be encoded in a compressed form of bitstring known as a bitmap. Such bitmaps can be generated in compressed form and used to compare individual conformers or ensembles of conformers of molecules to each other without decompression. Such comparisons are useful in molecular similarity analysis, in molecular diversity analysis, in database searching, and in conformational analysis.

  • Patent number: 7533528
Abstract: An actuator assembly (1) comprises a body (2) in which works an actuating piston (7), a first piston (5) and at least one second piston (6), a chamber (26) containing a substantially incompressible fluid by which each of the first and second pistons (5, 6) acts on the actuating piston (7). The movement of the first piston (5) from a retracted position to an extended position acts via the fluid to cause the actuating piston (7) to move from a retracted position to an operational position, and subsequent movement of a second piston (6) from a retracted position to an extended position acts via the fluid to cause an actuation movement of the actuating piston (7).

  • Publication number: 20090009391
Abstract: A system for a satellite includes a core system and multiple nodes for generating an active phased array. Each node includes a transceiver for wirelessly receiving a transmit signal from the core system, for wirelessly transmitting the transmit signals to a target, for wirelessly receiving the receive signals from the target, and for wirelessly transmitting the receive signal back to the core system. The system also includes a subsystem for inhibiting signal interference between the transmit and receive signals. Each of the nodes may also include local power generation circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20080078606
Abstract: A powered steering mechanism can operate in a steering mode or in a powered self-centering mode. The mechanism of the present invention includes a cylinder into and out of which can reciprocate a rod. The rod is provided with a fixed piston that defines a first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber. First and second inlet/outlet steering ports are provided in the pressure chambers through which a pressurizing fluid can flow into or out. The cylinder is also adapted to provide powered self-centering of the fixed piston and thereby the steering mechanism itself by the floating pistons that are located within the pressure chambers. First and second inlet/outlet centering ports are also provided in pressure chambers, through which fluid can flow into the chambers, causing floating pistons to move towards a central position and enabling the fixed piston to be moved and retained.

  • Publication number: 20070068121
Abstract: A system and methods of use for assembling packages has one or more conveyors for advancing one or more product flavors into an accumulation of product units. At an accumulation area the accumulated product units are separated into a subset of pack units by a pack splitter which are then deposited onto an indexing conveyor. The pack units may be supported by a substrate. The pack units are advanced along the indexing conveyor for final package assembly.

  • Patent number: 7004193
Abstract: A reactive speed hump (2) includes a fluid flow control valve assembly (4). A first valve (18, 20, 21) is naturally open and a second valve (10, 14, 15, 16, 17), naturally closed. Application of fluid pressure on the control valve assembly below a first lower threshold level or above a second higher threshold level allows a flow of fluid from the inlet to the outlet, but an application of fluid pressure on the control valve between said first and second threshold levels allows substantially no fluid to flow between the inlet (7) and the outlet (9).
