  • Publication number: 20090183331
Abstract: The toothbrush according to the invention is equipped with a handle of which the surface is formed, at least in certain sections, in a facet-like manner by way of multiplicity of planar surface-area elements. The surface-area elements are arranged directly adjacent to one another and form a network of element edges. The multiplicity of surface-area elements reproduce, more or less, an essentially rounded handle form, this ensuring comfortable use of the toothbrush in different rotary positions in relation to its longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20090127392
Abstract: A device is provided for protecting a structure, such as an aircraft structure. The device includes, but is not limited to a skin made of a material comprising a multitude of alternating aluminium and glass-fibre reinforced plastic layers (e.g., GLARE), each being a few tenths of a millimetre in thickness. The skin is attachable to the structure so that a space is created between the structure and the skin, into which space the skin deforms when a force acts on it, so as to absorb the force acting on the skin, thereby minimizing and preferably preventing damage to the structure.

  • Publication number: 20080315668
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for producing a toothbrush (50) or part thereof by the two-component or multi-component injection-molding process. To produce in the brush body segments (20) that are isolated from the rest of the brush body, a mold (10) which comprises three hollow regions (12, 14, 16) is used. Two of these hollow regions (12, 14) that are separate from one another serve for producing the segments (12) and the other regions (18) of the toothbrush (50) from a first component (38). A third hollow region (16) serves for distributing material to the segments (20) that are isolated from one another and from the other regions (18), or the corresponding hollow region (14). The material (22) remaining behind there is removed and sent for disposal. In a further step, connecting elements (42) between the segments (20) and/or the other regions (18) are injection-molded from a second component (39).

  • Patent number: 7419225
Abstract: A brush head for an electric toothbrush with a bristle carrier, in which bristles which are set in motion during the operation of the electric toothbrush, are anchored. The bristles are at least partly pointed filaments, which are arranged on the bristle carrier in such a way that, during the operation of the electric toothbrush, their tips cover at most a predetermined maximum path dmax. This advantageously succeeds in providing a toothbrush with an improved cleaning effect, in particular of the spaces between the teeth and the smallest structures on the tooth surface, while minimizing the mechanical loading, and consequently the wear, of the pointed filaments. The electric toothbrush has such a brush head, and a production method for such a brush head is shown.

  • Publication number: 20080014010
Abstract: The invention relates to a brush, in particular a toothbrush, comprising a head part with a cleaning structure that comprises bristles, a hand part and a neck part, a cavity comprising at least one outlet opening for an active substance being located in the head or neck part. In one embodiment, the cavity incorporates an active substance element, which contains the active substance in a carrier material and releases said substance in a controlled manner when it comes into contact with water. In another embodiment, the cavity is adapted to the shape of an active substance element by means of defined external contours. The volume of the cavity is preferably 1-2 times and no more than 4 times greater than the volume of the active substance element, ensuring that the latter is preferably surrounded by water during use. This allows the active substance to be effectively metered and ensures that the brush is easy to use.
