  • Patent number: 5341959
Abstract: There is disclosed a bag emptying arrangement, for bulk dry material bags with outlet spouts in which a bag is supported, spout lowermost, and inserted into a tube atop a valve. The tube has an inner annulus and a pinch mechanism so that the spout can be passed over the annulus and pinched between it and the tube to seal the spout to the tube.

Date of Patent: August 30, 1994
    Assignee: Bagfilla Overseas Limited
    Inventor: Peter J. Ellis
  • Patent number: 5322195
Abstract: Apparatus for discharging particulate solids from a flexible bag wherein a lower end of the bag and its spout are located within a hopper with the spout accessible through an opening in the hopper wall and wherein a constricting device is included for choking the bag spout to restrict flow therethrough so that the spout can be tied off and closed by access through the hopper wall opening.

  • Patent number: 5320251
Abstract: An apparatus for handling bulk materials includes a rigging frame which supports the upper end of the outer bag of an intermediate bulk carrier. A spool is rotatably mounted on the rigging frame and the inner bag of the intermediate bulk carrier is attached to the spool. The spool is rotated by a pneumatic cylinder thereby winding the inner bag onto the spool and emptying the inner bag.

  • Patent number: 4821162
Abstract: A low voltage lighting assembly which comprises a lamp holder, a pair of rigid electrically conductive arms, each arm having a lower end that passes through opposingly disposed apertures in the lamp holder in a manner so as to maintain electrical contact with a lamp socket disposed within the lamp holder, while said lamp holder is pivotable about the axis of the lower arms, each arm having an upper end with means to permit independent movement of an arm along one of a pair of spaced apart elongate electrical conductors and to be fixed in place to form electrical contact therewith. The conductors have means to connect to a suitable source of electric current, at a voltage of no more than about 24V. By pivoting the lamp holder about the axis of the lower arm ends, and moving each of the upper arm ends along the conductors, a lamp mounted in the holder may be positioned transversely with respect to the axis lying through the lower ends and longitudinally with respect to the conductors.

  • Patent number: 4495416
Abstract: A hand-held, battery powered instrument for the determination and recording of the intensity of radiation emitted or reflected by a target in the field in spectral bands from 400 nm to 12 micrometers. Two fields of view, typically 20.degree. and 1.degree., are provided. The pointing accuracy is 0.1.degree. or better. Multiple detectors are controlled by a single shutter. Gain and zero controls are preset, the whole spectral band is sampled in 4 seconds, and the results stored. They are later called up and shown on a liquid crystal display digitized to 9999.
