  • Publication number: 20220271417
Abstract: This document describes a multimode high-isolation antenna system and associated methods and systems. The described antenna system is implemented on a generally-circular printed circuit board and can be used for wideband and ultra-wideband applications. The multimode high-isolation antenna system includes two orthogonal antennas separated by a decoupling structure. This arrangement provides high isolation between the antennas and enables five unique resonant modes of operation for the multimode high-isolation antenna system.

  • Patent number: 11401077
Abstract: The present invention relates to modern plastic shopping bags. The shopping bag comprises two opposing handles, a main body with opposing sides, an open top, and a closed bottom. The shopping bag handles comprises a distinguishing characteristic on all of or a portion of each handle, thereby making each handle significantly visibly distinguishable from the main body of the shopping bag. Additionally proposed is a group of shopping bags for mounting to a dispenser rack, and wherein the handles characteristic of each first bag in line to be removed from the dispenser in succession differs from the handles characteristic of the next bag in line to be removed from the dispenser. In addition to the handles characteristic being significantly visually identifiable from the main body characteristic, other identifiable features of the bag such as a displayed Universal Product Code (UPC) are also shown and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20220231409
Abstract: This document describes a dual-antenna system for a video-recording doorbell and associated devices and systems. The described antenna system may be implemented on an elongated printed circuit board and can be used for wideband and ultra-wideband applications. For low-cost devices, the dual-antenna system may implement diversity antennas by including first and second substantially orthogonal antennas connected to a chipset configured for single-input single-output (SISO) functionality. The dual-antenna system described herein achieves high antenna isolation and efficiency without a decoupling structure between the first and second antennas. Further, the dual-antenna system achieves high isolation while in proximity to a battery (e.g., a battery within a housing of a battery-powered, video-recording doorbell) and a metal plate for mounting the device to a wall or other structure.

  • Publication number: 20220228267
Abstract: The disclosure describes an example technique that includes cold spraying first particles and second particles of a metal alloy on at least a portion of a surface of a substrate to form a deposit on the surface of the substrate. The first and second particles have been subjected to different heat treatments prior to cold spraying. Cold spraying involves accelerating the first particles and the second particles toward the surface of the substrate without melting or creating other thermally induced changes to a microstructure of the first and second particles. As a result, the first particles form a first, heat-treated component and the second particles form a second non-heat-treated or differently-heat-treated component, and the particles and substrate are not subject to a heat treatment during the cold spray process that may further modify their thermomechanical properties.

  • Patent number: 11384420
Abstract: An adhesion promoting layer is formed on a metallic substrate by generating a non-thermal plasma in air at atmospheric pressure, and exposing a surface of the metallic substrate to the plasma. The plasma oxidizes the metallic substrate to form metal oxide from metal atoms of the metallic substrate. The metal oxide is formed as a metal oxide layer disposed directly on an underlying bulk metallic layer of the metallic substrate. Alternatively, the plasma nitridizes the metallic substrate to form metal nitride from metal atoms of the metallic substrate. The metal nitride is formed as a metal nitride layer disposed directly on an underlying bulk metallic layer of the metallic substrate.

  • Publication number: 20220212446
Abstract: A laminated glass article comprises a core layer comprising a core glass composition having an average core coefficient of thermal expansion (CTEcore) and a clad layer directly adjacent to the core layer and comprising a clad glass composition having an average clad coefficient of thermal expansion (CTEclad) that is less than the CTEcore such that the clad layer is in compression and the core layer is in tension. A compressive stress of the clad layer increases with increasing distance from the outer surface of the clad layer, transitions to a minimum tensile stress as a step-change at an interface region between the core layer and the clad layer, and a magnitude of the tensile stress increases continuously to a maximum tensile stress in the core layer. Other stress profiles, and methods of preparing laminated glass articles are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11379945
Abstract: In a graphics processing unit (GPU), receiving an input image comprising an array of pixels. Each pixel having a gray scale value from a range of N grayscale values. For each particular input patch of pixels of a set of input patches partitioning the input image and in parallel for each particular grayscale value the range, counting the number of pixels in the particular input patch having the particular grayscale value. In parallel for each particular input patch of pixels of a set of input patches partitioning the input image, creating an output image patch as an ordered sequence of N pixels, with the color value of the nth pixel in each corresponding output patch representing the count of pixels in the particular input patch having the nth grayscale value. Combining the output image patches into a single composite output image of N pixels, the pixel value of the nth pixel in the single composite output image corresponding to the count of pixels in the input image having the nth grayscale value.
